Description

Position Summary:

Entry Position into Supply Chain responsible for purchase order placement for New Product Development and assigned indirect spend categories. Assists Strategic Sourcing in driving a robust commodity based procurement strategy of all ElectroCraft spend related to electric motors and controls & Indirect Spend requirements. Drives commodities toward best cost / regional corporate and site goals. Demonstrates and promotes achievement of performance goals related to safety, innovation, quality, productivity, costs, continuous improvement and service.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Placement of NPD items for prototype builds and indirect spend materials, which may be for both Ohio and Indiana Locations
  • Responsible for VMI reorder management, working closely with our supplers to ensure reorder quantity is in alignment with our current / future demand
  • Assist in analyzing / developing Direct Spend Commodity Strategy to support:
  • Regional Best Cost Country 
  • Global Cost Reduction
  • Supply Chain Risk Mitigation
  • Supplier Consolidation
  • Obtaining / Managing Non Disclosure Agreements with new suppliers
  • Preparing Request for Quotes, based on Commodity Strategy
  • Tracking / analyzing quotes received in preparation for recommending best sourcing options to support regional demand
  • Corrdinates First Article Inspections Requirements (PPAP’s) in process and schedule atainment of first PO delivery of goods at new supplier. Interacts with Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality Control
  • Participate in building long term relationships with key suppliers to drive down cost and material leadtimes, by implementation of signed agreements
  • May recommend cost saving proposals including make/buy analysis, alternative sourcing, volume discounts and vendor evaluation criteria.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications, preferred, but not required
  • Ability to understand suppliers cost breakdown related to commodity markets, and technology which may affect the commodities purchased and opportunities to improve total overall costs.
  • Insure compliance with plant, division and corporate requirments i.e. freight routing, use of coprorate approved suppliers, payment terms etc.
  • Perform all job duties in a safe manner and obey all safety policies and procedures.

  • Continuously contributes to ensuring compliance with company values, ethics, and related compliance expectations.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • BA or BS in related field or 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing sourcing role a plus.
  • ISM and/or APICS Certification preferred, however not required.
  • Strong verbal and written skills. 
  • Personal Computer skills required are: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of ERP and MRP software applications, preferred, however not required.
  • Advanced knowledge of suppliers’ manufacturing processes, industry experience, and identifying and challenging product cost drivers a plus.
