EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part-time, 20-25 hrs/week

DAYS OF WEEK: Tuesday – Saturday 

PRIMARY TEAM LEADER: Homeownership Program Senior Manager

FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Hourly

LOCATION: Kansas City Metropolitan Area


JOB SUMMARY: The Education Coordinator facilitates HUD-approved educational opportunities to Habitat KC’s homeownership program and community participants. Key aspects of this role are developing, instructing, and overseeing group education workshops aimed at improving financial capability and homeowner success. This role will maintain/build strong external partnerships to help further advance organizational initiatives. The Education Coordinator plays a crucial role in equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions that ultimately contribute to financial well-being and housing stability.


PRINCIPLE DUTIES

  • Collaborates with department leaders to plan and schedule educational events
  • Coordinates and facilitates home buyer and financial management education classes both virtually and in-person
  • Collaborates with Marketing team to promote education opportunities on Habitat KC website and social media platforms
  • Establishes and maintains key education partnership opportunities
  • Data management of education participant and workshop details into MpactPro CMS. Ensures entries are accurate, complete, and available for timely cross-departmental reporting
  • Coordinates homeownership outreach efforts including hosting Open House events for community partners/referral agencies and neighborhood residents showcasing the homeownership program
  • Conducts off-site Homeowner Services info sessions and workshops for Workforce Development program
  • Must meet QLO certification/ background requirements within the first 60 days of employment
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES


Experience

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in data management, adult education, curriculum development - including training content and facilitation, and financial coaching in a client-facing role; required
  • Strong knowledge of financial concepts, including budgeting, savings, and debt management
  • Experience in working with low to moderate income populations preferred

  • Communication:  Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to write professional documents. Bi/multi-lingual, is a plus
  • Flexibility/Adaptability:  Ability to work under pressure to handle frequent change, delays, and/or unexpected events
  • Interpersonal:  Outstanding customer service skills with an ability to work with diverse, multi-lingual populations and organizational partners
  • Technical: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Zoom and/or Teams required

Job Requirements

  • Complete yearly Qualified Loan Originator training 
  • Maintain required certifications and industry knowledge through research, workshops, training, and required compliance
  • Willingness to maintain the flexible work schedule necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position, including evenings as needed and Saturdays
  • Willingness to travel between multiple Habitat KC sites and external partner locations as needed

Physical Requirements

  • Speak and hear in order to communicate with others
