INTERNSHIP PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

This is a full-time, 12-week internship from May-August 2025. Summer interns work from 9:00 am-5:00 pm, Monday-Friday — approximately 30-40 hours per week. While contributing to department initiatives, interns will also engage in educational experiences that help prepare them for workplace life. 


EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: Junior or senior undergraduate students majoring in marketing, communications or advertising will be considered for this internship.


COMPENSATION: Interns are paid $18 per hour


LOCATION: On-site at our office in Omaha, Nebraska. 


PROFESSIONAL EXPECTATIONS: ES&S views the Internship Program as a professional learning opportunity. Interns will be held to the same professional standards as all full-time employees. Interns are involved in division, team, and project meetings, take on tasks that impact department goals, and learn new skills. 


SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: This internship offers participants firsthand experience within an in-house Marketing Communications department, including real-world exposure to marketing communication concepts, fostering professional learning and skill development, and aiding participants in building a robust post-graduation work history for their resumes.


SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Basic knowledge of marketing communication theories, techniques and outlets 
  • Good mastery of the English language, able to write for different types of mediums 
  • Good computing skills, including experience working with the Microsoft Office and Adobe CC suite of programs 
  • Solid classroom preparation in marketing communications, journalism and/or advertising 
  • Willingness and desire to learn and develop specific skills and abilities 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, working closely with multiple audiences and stakeholders 
  • Self-motivated and a team player
  • Strong project management and planning skills 
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) 
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize 
  • Creative thinker 
  • Ability to work cross-functionally 
  • Strong analytical skills, including basic data analysis

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Supporting ES&S’ marketing initiatives by contributing to the planning, development and execution of various Marcom materials and content, including but not limited to emails, blog posts, social media posts, website content development, etc. 
  • Assisting with the coordination of events 
  • Assisting with proofreading, information gathering, archiving, database development and filing
  • Supporting the execution and monitoring of social media and marketing programs.
  • Collecting quantitative and qualitative data from marketing campaigns
  • Researching and evaluating competitor marketing and digital content
  • Supporting the marketing team in daily administrative tasks

Salary Description
$18/hr
