General Summary: This position directs and coordinates activities of transportation compliance to obtain optimum use of equipment, facilities, and personnel, and works cooperatively with Operations, Mechanical, Environmental, Purchasing and Personnel Services.
Positions reporting to this position: One or more DOT Compliance Manager(s) and Administrative Assistant(s)
Duties and Responsibilities (functions considered essential are marked by an *):
- Formulates and establishes operational policies and procedures
- Assures compliance with Department of Transportation Regulations as they apply to Hulcher Services, Inc.
- Implements best practices designed to assure DOT compliance
- Directs compliance of workers with established company transportation policies, procedures, and standards
- Reviews and analyzes operational records and reports and refers to manuals, company instructions, and government regulations to detect deviations from operational practices and prepares directives to eliminate such infractions
- Oversees investigation of incidents and inspections of equipment to ensure that adequate protection exists for company assets, property, and equipment.
- Monitors the inspection of company vehicles and equipment for evidence of abuse
- Ensures regulatory compliance of DOT Driver Qualification files, Driver Logs, and Vehicle Trip Reports.
- Designs and implements DOT-compliant audits
- Represents Hulcher in all contacts with Department of Transportation.
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required.
Educational Requirements: High School Diploma
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related DOT/Safety field or equivalent work experience in the Safety management field.
Experience Requirements: Ten years experience to include five or more years of related experience managing DOT compliance administration
Travel: Must be able to travel 50% of the time, including nights and weekends.
