Chief Product Officer
Description

The Pennon Organization is seeking a strategic thinker who has proven success in product development and management to join our team as the Chief Product Officer. This role will be responsible for leading the product lifecycle and change process for current and new products for Pennon that help to advance our goals in the area of production, journalism, and education. They will lead a cross-organizational team that develops ideas and brings them to life to serve our community while taking feedback and improving our delivery of quality and innovative programming.  Essential duties include:


Product Strategy and Vision

  • Define and execute product strategy based on the organization’s goals and market opportunities and trends.
  • Lead the development of product offerings and oversee how the organization integrates new technologies.
  • Conduct market research to understand industry trends and emerging technologies.

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Collaborate across the organization to ensure product offerings align with goals and growth strategies.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in product development and oversee the communication efforts around those products. 
  • Foster a culture of experimentation and creativity in the product process and design.

Product Development and Lifecyle Management 

  • Oversee and lead the product lifecycle from conceptualization to launch.
  • Oversee the timelines for product development and drive innovation for continuous development and improvement.

Revenue Growth

  • Own the product portfolio’s profit and loss, ensuring that products contribute to growth and long-term sustainability.
  • Identify new revenue streams that fit the goals and strategies of the organization. 


  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Product Management, Education, Media, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus. Minimum of 10 years of experience in product management or a related leadership role. Proven experience in leading product teams, managing a product portfolio, and driving product innovation.


Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have Microsoft Office knowledge and demonstrated success in managing digital products and content-driven platforms. Experience with media assets is a plus.

Salary Description
$160,000 - 190,000/year
