JOB SUMMARY 

Malibu Acceptance, LLC is seeking an AR/Job Cost Accountant Specialist to join our team. Must be able to communicate with customers and keep detailed information on accounts. Previous experience preferred. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Key Responsibilities and Duties


Accounts Receivable & Customer Interaction

  • Monitor a segment of the AR aging report for past-due accounts.
  • Contact customers via phone and email to collect payment on outstanding invoices.
  • Accept customer calls and requests, create and update customer information.
  • Communicate with operations team and management regarding customer hold status.
  • Monitor customer credit limits and update the system as needed.
  • Post customer payments in the ERP system and deposit checks received via desktop deposit.

Billing & Job Costing

  • Prepare monthly AIA construction billing and Lien Releases.
  • Prepare prequalification packages and request insurance COIs for new job starts.
  • Job cost by completed areas based on labor paid and job Schedule of Values (SOV).
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies and adjust/reconcile customer accounts.
  • Research differences in materials and labor that affect job costing in the RFMS ERP.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Interact positively and proactively with all departments and satellite operations to ensure accurate information in the billing process.
  • Facilitate special projects as needed to support team goals.

Technical Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with AIA billing and OCIP/CCIP registrations; familiarity with RFMS software is helpful.
  • Strong detail orientation, quick learning ability, and effective multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with professional communication skills.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company guidelines, policies and procedures, and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • 2 years prior AR/Collection experience preferred 
  • Expertise with MS Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication, organizational and writing skills.
  • Knowledge of operation of standard office equipment.
  • High level of problem-solving ability including independent judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Excel – solid experience with excel including putting together basic formulas
  • Pride – you should truly take pride in your work and not just show up to collect a paycheck.
  • Teamwork – the ability to help others throughout the company, as well as our customers, is vital.
  • Strong work ethic and sense of discipline.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and customer service orientation.
