POSITION SUMMARY

Benedictine College invites applications from kinesiology and exercise science fields with emphasis in strength and conditioning to apply for a full-time position in the rapidly growing Health, Wellness, and Exercise Science Department.

This Assistant or Associate Professor position starts in Fall 2025. Main responsibilities pertaining to teaching:

  • Sport Psychology
  • Programing and Periodization
  • Introduction to Personal Training
  • Essentials of Strength and Conditioning
  • Wellness for Life
  • Advanced weights and cueing for strength training and plyometrics

Other potential courses to teach:

  • Sport Nutrition
  • Foundations of Human Movement
  • Fitness courses (such as: Beginning Gymnastics, Weight Lifting, Dance Classes, etc.)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching 12 credits of classes per academic semester
  • Actively participate in Department meetings and growth planning 
  • Serve as an academic advisor to Department majors and minors
  • Engage in appropriate faculty service.
  • Be willing to engage in course development for emerging skills


Requirements

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate should hold a master’s or terminal degree in exercise science, kinesiology, strength and conditioning, or associated fields. Doctorate degree preferred. Individuals with a personal and professional growth mindset are encouraged to apply. 


The following qualifications are highly preferred:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the field of strength and conditioning
  • Certified in at least one of the following:
  • CSCS 
  • SCCA
  • NASCA-CPT
  • USAW
  • Post-secondary teaching experience preferred
