ZTransform has a great opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join our team. The Systems Engineer is a full-time position that performs systems engineering, product commissioning, documentation production, and integration support on a breadth of projects across broadcast, corporate media, higher education, and government. These projects commonly involve broadcast and high-end audio-visual technologies in fixed-facilities as well as mobile and temporary technical spaces.

The Systems Engineer is a tactical project engineering role responsible for the successful execution of systems design, configuration, commissioning, testing, training, and launch support for all assigned projects. This role is considered an entry level engineering role with close ties to the integration processes and construction documentation management. The individual in this role will work closely with Senior Design Engineers, Test Engineers, Supervisory Installation Technicians, and Project Management toward the successful deployment of systems. Also Included in the job function is the remote and/or in-field troubleshooting and remediation of performance issues in client’s technical operations environments as part of our Managed Services operation. This role will also support ongoing development of company processes and workflow improvements as the company grows.
 

As a Systems Engineer, you must have a strong understanding of legacy and contemporary technologies, installation and testing practices, and system use to ensure client satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Be a ZTransform supporting technical team member in the successful execution of broadcast and multimedia design-build and managed services projects. This includes working within a productive matrixed project environment with team members within and outside of the company, including the client, client’s consultants, and their subcontracted resources.
  • Participate in all technical aspects of projects including the pre-design, detailed design, system deployment, testing, and configuration management for all built environments in support of the technical project lead.
  • Perform detailed design documentation and wire listing on projects as assigned. Be an expert in change management for all system documentation.
  • Work with Integration Lead to ensure all installation teams are properly prepared for the deployment phase of the projects, including preparation of site shipments, on-site delivery and integration task planning, risk mitigation, and issue resolution. 
  • Ensure Integration team is following best practices and be responsible for completing pre-installation, pre-commissioning and closeout checklists.
  • Provide support to the Director of Integration at times of high project workload or time away. 
  • Become an expert user of all software applications required to perform the role including AutoCAD, MS Word, Excel, and Wrike task & resource management software.
  • Establish and foster relationships with client stakeholders, providing timely and concise communication on project status, changes, and escalations.
  • Periodic travel to the project job site, and the potential for extended stays during certain periods, are possible.


Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a systems engineering or supervisory integration role in a project based organization.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD drafting applications.
  • Experts in Microsoft Excel, specifically as it relates to pre-design documentation, wirelisting, label printing and related systems integration tools.
  • Knowledge of SMPTE standards with an interest in learning ST2110
  • Knowledge of IT routers, switches, firewalls, VLANs, and related networking standards.
  • Experience with, and commitment to documentation change management processes.
  • Firm understanding of the importance of an accurate project inventory during design and integration phases.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with diverse audiences across different departments.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and determine priorities.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.    

Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be 18 years or older with a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
