Salary Range: $15.00 - $20.00 hourly

Job Overview: 

To prepare, sell and serve beverages to customers and maintain a clean, orderly well-stocked bar. Ensure compliance with legal requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Set up bar for events providing a variety of alcohol, mixers, and garnishes and break down the bar at the end of events.
  • Take and prepare orders for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages following standard recipes.
  • Check identification of customers to ensure compliance with server laws.
  • Record beverage sales, collect payments, and make accurate change for customers.
  • Maintain, clean, and restock the bar during and after events.
  • Provide responsible service of alcoholic beverages and tactfully address situations with customers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Requirements

Qualifications: 

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and negotiate stairs. 
  • Ability to operate a cash register, portable credit card machine and handle cash transactions.
  • Ability to read, write and use simple arithmetic.
  • Ability to follow timelines.

  • Availability to maintain a flexible schedule based on Museum event needs, including nights and weekends. 

Education and Experience: 

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year in a similar position.
  • Current TIPS Alcohol Training certification or equivalent.
