Senior IT System Administrator - Hybrid Remote 

Little Rock, AR

3 days onsite / 2 days remote


Smiley Technologies, a leading provider of cloud based solutions within the banking sector, is looking for a Senior IT System Administrator to join a team of experienced IT Engineers involved in the support, maintenance and migration of IT systems within the Smiley customer base.


The successful Senior IT System Administrator will work alongside the IT Manager, as well as a wider Agile team of Network Engineers, Software Developers and Platform Engineers, to collaborate in the engineering of the Smiley platform.

What Smiley is looking for?

· A Senior IT System Administrator, capable of working alone and as part of a team to deliver high quality support within technically challenging environments.

· Expertise in Entra ID, Active Directory, VMWare and Windows OS

· An Engineer who is able to negotiate difficult conversations with both technical and non-technical stakeholders


What would you be responsible for?

· Installing, troubleshooting and managing a diverse range of software and hardware related issues, both internally and for end clients.

· Managing both hybrid entra and on premise solutions

· Managing Microsoft OS, Microsoft Software and all third-party software patches for Smiley and client’s server environments on prem and cloud environments.

· Develop and execute comprehensive migration plans, including timelines, resources, and risk mitigation strategies.

· Triage IT ticket queue to resolve issues professionally or escalate promptly to ensure all incidents and service requests are resolved against SLAs and with the highest customer service standards

· Assist in support of data center operations for Smiley and clients as needed.


What technologies will you get the opportunity to work with?

Our primary stack is Microsoft based, with our platform being built using .Net Core and deployed on Azure and on-premise, so on a daily basis you can expect to have exposure to the Microsoft Support Suite, including:

Entra ID, Azure AD Connect, Intune, Access Control, MS SSO, Office 3656 / MS365, Active Directory, VMWare, Azure Virtual Machines, Windows Server, Barracuda Web Filter, Barracuda Backup, MS Authenticator, PowerShell, Enterprise Storage, ConnectWise Automate, as well as a selection of our own tooling that we use daily!

Interview 1 - this will be completed via video call with our HR team, focused mainly around cultural fit and technical experience.

Interview 2 - this will be onsite, giving you the opportunity to review the working environment and even meet some potential colleagues. There will be a small technical scenario to navigate, showcasing a realistic ticket that you are likely to receive.
