About Pleasant View Dairy

Since 1928 Pleasant View Dairy (PVD) has been a local producer of high quality dairy products such as fresh milk, sour cream, butter, and other dairy products. PVD plant is located in Highland Indiana and is responsible for providing multiple school districts supplies of milk along with local grocery stores.

Summary of Position

As Plant Manager this role will be reporting to VP of Manufacturing and is responsible for the overall production, distribution, and quality of the products produced at the facility. The Plant Manager will be responsible for setting company standards with regards to safety, production & quality. Additionally the Plant Manager will supervise Production Manager, Transportation Manager, and Office Manager.

 

 Essential Functions

1. Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods.

2. Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports in order to determine production requirements and evaluate current production estimates and outputs.

3. Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.

4. Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.

5. Demonstrate equipment operations, work processes, and safety procedures to new employees or assign employees to experienced workers for training.

6. Observe work, and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.

7. Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.

8. Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.

9. Responsible for analyzing relative costs and benefits of potential actions 

10. Manage complex situations, review related information, and implement solutions

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Required Education and Experience

1. 3-5 years’ experience in food manufacturing (management role)

2. Track record of driving productivity in manufacturing setting

3. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximzing the manufacture and distribution of goods.

Preferred Education and Experience

1. Bachelors Degree 

2. 2-5 years’ experience in logistics setting

3. Fluid food production experience 

4. Bottle experience in manufacturing setting
