Description

Through our shared values and culture of professional team service, we engage and inspire the Aggie Network to support Texas Aggies and perpetuate the Aggie Spirit. We seek a friendly, organized and detail-oriented individual to join a highly motivated team in selflessly advancing The Association of Former Students’ noble mission by providing excellent customer service and assisting with the daily operations of the Aggie Ring Program.

DUTIES

Builds relationships through interactions with customers:

  • Remains customer-focused in all duties.
  • Assists customers with Aggie Ring orders and repairs, including selection, payment and general inquiries. 
  • Answers telephone calls.
  • Inspects Aggie Rings before and after sending to Balfour for repair.
  • Prepares Aggie Ring shipments via FedEx.
  • Communicates Association messages to customers during order and repair processes.
  • Maintains accuracy of records by reviewing and updating the Find an Aggie database as part of each customer interaction.
  • Assists with Aggie Ring delivery procedures by unpacking, inspecting and organizing Rings.  
  • Assists the Aggie Ring Program Manager and Coordinator, as directed.

Participates in and provides input on various Association-wide activities:

  • Actively contributes toward efforts to achieve our culture, engagement, and fundraising goals.
  • Provides on-site event support for Board and Leadership Council meetings.
  • Participates on internal event teams and task committees.
  • Participates in Association events, which may include Aggie Muster, Aggie Ring Day, All-Aggie Grad Party, All-Aggie Hullabaloo, Distinguished Alumni Gala, Reunions, Pass It Back Day, Thank an Ag Day, All-Team Meetings, gameday receptions, and others as required.

Serves as an ambassador for The Association:

  • Meets our Team Expectations.
  • Supports The Association’s marketing, communications, and branding initiatives.
  • Fosters relationships with students, former students, faculty, staff, and friends of Texas A&M.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Required: Sound judgment and utmost discretion. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task efficiently while maintaining a helpful, customer-focused attitude in a busy office environment. Ability to work effectively with a variety of unique personalities and individuals. Proficiency with standard office equipment and software. Ability to sit or stand at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods. Ability to stand for long periods when needed at events.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Strong commitment to the vision and mission of The Association of Former Students, with the ability and desire to advocate for the organization and Texas A&M University. Willingness to work events outside normal business hours, such as Aggie Ring Day. Additional hours may be required during Aggie Ring order periods (approximately 15 weeks per year). Outgoing personality with a positive and friendly attitude.


EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

Required: Current student at Texas A&M University or Blinn College. 

Preferred: Prior customer service experience. Current student at Texas A&M University. Two or more years remaining in school (due to extensive training requirements).
