Description

The NRF Foundation is seeking an individual to join a dynamic team and manage the operations and logistics for key NRF Foundation university and early careerist programs which provide experiences to prepare individuals for retail jobs to help them build their skills, networks and careers. This role is also responsible for the development of NRF Foundation university partnerships designed to meet industry needs and promote retail as an industry of opportunity in alignment with NRF Foundation goals and mission.

Essential Functions

  • Manage strategic efforts for university relations to drive participation and engagement across NRF Foundation university programs amongst all University Members and prospect schools with strategic ties to NRF Foundation goals.
  • Manage the logistics and execution for NRF Foundation university and early careerist events; to include venue logistics, vendor relationships, attendee registration systems and virtual event platforms. 
  • Partner with internal team members around corporate engagement and communications on program efforts designed to increase campus engagement and cultivate and strengthen relationships with universities, retailers, industry, students and early careerists.
  • Serve as thought partner to Senior Director to develop content and identify key themes and speakers for NRF Foundation university and early careerist events and programs.
  • Serve as liaison with external stakeholders and internal team members in partnership with Senior Director to secure speakers and manage speaker logistics ahead of and during NRF Foundation events. 
  • Manage budget segments for NRF Foundation university and early careerist expenses and revenue; includes expense projections and maximizing resource allocation. 
  • May be assigned to serve as lead on special projects and initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience required. 
  • Minimum 4 years of program management and event operations/logistics experience for large audiences.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with a demonstrated record of building successful, long-term relationships and connecting with external stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively interface with executive leaders and community partners.
  • Strong written communication skills and high attention to detail.
  • Keen interest in retail industry, news and trends and ability to keep up with change to inform programs.
  • A team player able to engage with all staff levels and key external partners effectively and confidently.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and priorities effectively and adapt quickly and readily to change.
  • Ability to work and collaborate as part of a motivated, driven team.
  • Must be able to work in the Washington, D.C. office
  • Ability to travel (up to 20%).


Salary Description
$95,000 - $115,000 annually
