New Canaan Country School, a Pre-K through Grade 9 co-ed, independent day school, currently serves 555 students from diverse backgrounds living in 21 different surrounding towns/cities in Connecticut and New York. Transportation Coordinator
- Confers with school officials, parents, and outside agency officials on student transportation problems, procedures, and requirements and recommends or initiates appropriate actions.
- Answers requests for information on bus routes and stop locations, and reviews requests for schedule changes.
- Prepares accurate student lists to send to the routing company. Includes parent feedback as received from the transportation survey.
- Meets with the routing company to review routes and provide driver feedback on routes.
- Is available to greet the buses upon 8:00 am arrival.
- Assists operational supervisors in the handling of day-to-day problems, and acts as a resource person to supervisors on management and transportation questions
- Evaluates depot managers' performance and makes recommendations regarding Operations personnel.
- Prints, organizes, and reviews afternoon dismissal sheets. Makes drivers aware of any new information and oversees the 3 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. dismissals.
- Assists the director with the department's yearly billing spreadsheet.
- Meets with other divisions/departments to promote interdisciplinary programs.
- Acts as liaison between department and schools and community.
- Reserves buses for field trips and athletic games.
- Performs related work as required.
Operations Administrative Assistant
- Ensures smooth office administration and organization on a day-to-day basis.
- Supports operations by maintaining office systems and supervising staff.
- Organizes meetings with contractors and manages databases of contact information and project timelines.
- Organizes event forms for all upcoming events as they come in, and distributes them to the team.
- Assists the Director with campus housing, updating leases, managing work orders, and overseeing move-ins.
- Designs and implements office policies by establishing standards and procedures, measuring results against standards, and making necessary adjustments.
- Works collaboratively with staff to develop, implement, and improve administrative functions related to the organization's projects and activities.
- Manages vendor files, obtains estimates and contracts, and researches products and services.
- Manages and processes checks and electronic payments, bills, invoices, and receipts; oversees expenses and tracks payments; assists with other financial matters as needed.
