Description

Celona is seeking a highly experienced Senior Quality and Certifications Engineer to join our dynamic team, reporting to the Senior Director of Supply Chain, Logistics, and Operations. In this role, you will collaborate closely with teams across Operations, Engineering, Product Management, Support, and Sales Operations, as well as engage with external partners including vendors, contract manufacturers, suppliers, certification labs, regulatory bodies, and logistics providers.  


This role is based in our Campbell, CA office with some required travel to Taiwan [20-25%].


Position Overview: As the Senior Quality and Certifications Engineer, your primary responsibility will be ensuring that our vendors, suppliers, and contract manufacturers meet stringent quality and certification standards. You will evaluate suppliers based on rigorous criteria, ensuring compliance with industry best practices, while driving product quality across the supply chain. You will also lead the certification process, working with labs, partners, and regulatory authorities to certify products efficiently and secure necessary documentation. 


Requirements


Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and select vendors, suppliers, and contract manufacturers, ensuring adherence to industry standards and delivery of high-quality products.
  • Manage certification processes by liaising with certification labs, regulatory bodies, and partners, ensuring products meet certification requirements within established timelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of quality standards across operations.
  • Perform quality oversight for products manufactured by third-party entities, including EMS and 3PL vendors.
  • Establish and maintain quality agreements with key suppliers and manage the disposition of RMA and obsolete products.
  • Monitor and analyze supplier quality performance, addressing issues and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Lead quarterly Product Review Program and Quality Review Board meetings in partnership with the Supply Chain team.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis and root cause identification, leveraging methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Ensure adherence to global regulatory compliance standards (CE, UL, FCC, RoHS) and industry-specific certifications (ISO 14001, ISO 9001).


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in the high-tech sector, preferably in networking product development and manufacturing.
  • Proven experience working with third-party vendors, contract manufacturers, and certification labs.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and quality assurance processes, with the ability to evaluate and optimize them.
  • Familiarity with wireless (Cellular, WiFi) and enterprise networking technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of certification processes and regulatory standards, including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
  • Proficiency in English required; Mandarin language skills are a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally to meet with vendors, partners, and certification bodies.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, high-growth environment with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Experience in supplier development and audit, with a focus on quality and compliance for ODM, OEM, and 3PL partners.
  • Expertise in Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements and reduce defects.

Compensation for this role is between $95,000- $125,000.  At Celona full-time employees are eligible to receive stock options and company sponsored benefits.
