About the opportunity: Staff Piping Engineer
We are currently seeking a Staff Piping Engineer to help us achieve our company mission. The Plant Design team is responsible for preparing studies, sketches, drawings and models of equipment arrangements and piping layouts as well as performing a variety of computer-based modeling, design, and planning tasks on projects. C&I is a full-service engineering design firm providing engineering/design/project management and procurement services to various clients in oil & gas, food & beverage, and distilled spirits.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform pipe stress analysis and pipe support design calculations per applicable ASME codes.
- Evaluate piping loads and stresses on equipment including vessels, exchangers, pumps, compressors and more.
- Uses ASME, ANSI, and APU standards utilizing Nozzle Pro, Compress, Caesar II, and manual calculation methods.
- The Staff Piping Engineer will create piping layouts and 3D models for complex systems utilizing P&IDs, pipe specs, EAs, and vendor data along with a working knowledge of best piping practices/industry standards.
- Develop equipment arrangements utilizing vendor data and design criteria.
- Gather field information and develop field sketches.
- The Staff Piping Engineer will lead small-sized projects. This includes managing schedules, budgets, and quality.
- Develop piping/mechanical design SOW documents, effort hours estimates, and resource-loaded schedules, and conduct vendor print reviews.
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program.
- 10 years of related work experience.
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally to offices, vendor shops, and project sites. Travel is expected to be up to 10%
- Must comply with drug-free workplace requirements.
- Must be able to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and pass any background checks.
- Performs work in a safe manner in accordance with C&I and client requirements.
- Valid Driver’s License
Qualifications that set you apart:

- Extensive technical experience in Caesar II, Compress, and Nozzle Pro,
