Camp and Curriculum Manager
Description

Miami Children's Museum is seeking a new Camp and Curriculum Manager to join their team! 


The Camp and Curriculum Manager develops innovative curricula for the Museum’s camps, group tours, and traveling exhibits. They also provide training, leadership, and supervision of all staff implementing these programs.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop curricula for one-day, winter, spring, and summer camps.
  • Hire, train, and supervise seasonal staff and contractors.
  • Oversee all aspects of camp program implementation on- and off-site, including supplies, teacher carts, and classroom set-up.
  • Interact with campers’ families during pick-up and drop-off.
  • Manage the camp budget (including grant-based programs).
  • Develop curricula and activities for theme-based tours.
  • Work with the group tour coordinator to order supplies and classroom set-ups for Learning Labs.
  • Train educators on the delivery of themed-based tours.
  • Align tours’ content to educational standards.
  • When necessary, develop pre- and post-visit materials for teachers.
  • Manage volunteers when assisting with camp and tour programs.
  • Facilitate evaluations for all programs. 
  • Serve as Floor Manager and supervise Museum Educators.
  • Promote fun, positive visitor experiences.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Monday-Friday schedule with weekend availability. 


Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A BA in Early Childhood Education, Art Education, or Museum Studies
  • At least 5 years of experience in teaching and 3 years of experience in an education leadership role
  • Relevant experience in curriculum development, team building, budget management, customer service, and risk management.
  • Experience working in museums is preferred
  • Microsoft Office and computer skills required
  • Knowledge of Florida educational standards.
  • Sound verbal and writing skills
  • English and Spanish fluency preferred
