JOB SUMMARY
The ideal candidate will have experience as a Carpenter or in a Cabinet Service Technician, or Cabinet Installer. In this role, you will work to service and repair cabinets, moldings, trim, and handle any touch-ups or adjustments needed on job sites.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
The Cabinet Field Technician has full responsibility for the following functions:
- Perform daily visits to the assigned communities and communicate directly with the community builder or superintendent. It is essential to establish a relationship built on trust and dependability with each job site builder and their personnel. Communicate professionally and promptly with knowledge and courtesy to be successful. Attending builders’ safety meetings.
- Inspect the cabinet installation within 48 hours of completion.
- Conduct cabinet measures, confirm the drawings and dimensions, and verify plumbing locations and readiness. Execute partial installations of missing or replacement cabinets or parts, inventory, and remove any extra cabinets or parts from the job sites. Perform repairs such as door or hinge replacements, stain and paint touch-ups, face frame replacements, etc., and customer service inspections/repairs with homebuyers, builders, superintendents, and manufacturers.
- Collect cabinet walk sheets from the warehouse daily or at least 2-3 times a week and order parts. Add notes consistently to the system. Email walk sheets with pictures to the assigned office associates and provide a hard copy to the assigned cabinet warehouse associate for progress updates.
- Perform occasional calls and material deliveries to the sites from the warehouse or vendors.
- Communicate with the Cabinet Field Supervisor about any outstanding issues, incomplete installations, or excessive field cabinet adjustments to promptly address the situation.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company guidelines, policies and procedures, and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

MANDATORY
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the cabinet industry, including construction, installation, repair, adjustment, finish, and staining.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software programs. Ability to learn and adapt to new software programs as needed.
- Good communication, organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills. Ability to work with multiple contractors and subcontractors, prioritize workload and resources, and execute a problem-solving plan for optimal results.
- Being a good team player is a must. Be open to feedback, keep their emotions under control, react well under pressure and adapt to changes and delays. Be punctual and arrive at meetings and appointments on time.
- Clean driving records with a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
