Field Service Technician
Description

Provide service and customer support during field visits related to warranty and product installation.


Job Responsibilities/Key Accountabilities 

  • Lead all activities related to field service work.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable state and federal laws within OSHA, EPA, and labor laws.
  • Follow all rules established by the site.
  • Coordinate activities with customers and their contractors while on site.
  • Perform supervisory activities with site installations.
  • Document and record all field service activities.
  • Perform activities to install or repair electrical, mechanical, paint, or fabricated systems.
  • Use hand tools, powered tools, work at heights, use personal lifts, etc.
  • Be the point of contact with customer with new or ongoing issues.
  • Maintain service vehicle.
  • Manage on-site employee performance, resolve concerns, and communicate clearly with Field Service Manager.
  • Train employees in new responsibilities and assist in production-related duties when needed or when not traveling.
  • Interface with other shop supervisors, staff, production management, production supporting design engineers and management.
  • Follow all established quality guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Perform manufacturing and maintenance duties between field service trips.
  • Perform additional duties as requested.

Licenses/Certifications: YES

  • Complete and maintain the 30-hour OSHA certification.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Passport


Requirements


  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing.
  • Electrical experience is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills – ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, vendors, other departments, and customers.
  • Desire to build strong team, coach and develop employees.
  • Strong computer skills including use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and job cost/inventory control software systems.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret structural and electrical drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy steel fabrication, welding, sheet metal and industrial painting, electrical processes, rigging, and transportation.
  • Proficiency in current processes used within the production environment.
  • Willingness to develop skill sets to understand all aspects of manufacturing.
  • Ability to support manufacturing on-site in Tea, SD during non-travel time.

Educational Requirements/Degree(s)

High school education preferred.
