Volunteer Program Coordinator (Part-Time, 30 Hours/Week, Tuesday–Saturday)

As our Volunteer Program Coordinator, you’ll have the unique opportunity to work across two beautiful locations – the Buddy Center (Castle Rock, CO) and Harmony Equine Center (Franktown, CO) – supporting volunteers who care for pets and rehabilitate horses. In this role, you’ll facilitate onboarding, develop engagement programs, and create lasting relationships with volunteers and the community, all while enjoying a schedule designed for work-life balance: Tuesday through Saturday, six-hour days.

Responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison between operations staff and volunteers
- Collaborate with departments to ensure appropriate levels of volunteer coverage
- Facilitate onboarding process for prospective volunteers
- Support facilitating group trainings as needed
- Conduct recruitment efforts to generate program interest in the community
- Interview prospective volunteers and assign them to areas of interest
- Coordinate community service volunteer program at Buddy Center, including processing applications, running background checks and managing communications, while maintaining confidentiality
- Update and revise training materials as necessary
- Organize and maintain new volunteer paperwork and supplies
- Coordinate all aspects of Buddy Center Summer Teen Program, including recruitment, training, communications and reporting
- Monitor volunteer attendance, and follow up with volunteers who do not meet service requirements
- Create and distribute a monthly newsletter for each facility
- Plan and facilitate volunteer engagement events
- Resolve volunteer issues as they arise
- Assist current and prospective volunteers as needed throughout the day while providing excellent customer service

Compensation: $21.60-$22.58 (starting pay commensurate with market, experience, and equity)

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements
Performs work primarily in an office setting. Potentially prolonged periods of sitting and repetitive motion. May work in an area with high noise level. Potentially subject to animal bites and scratches. Exposure to cleaning chemicals, fumes, dust, animal dander, and feces. Occasional lifting with reasonable accommodation.

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Work Experience: Three years of customer service experience including working with volunteers

- Experience working in a volunteer or training department for a nonprofit organization
- Experience with volunteer management software
