Job Summary:
We’re seeking a skilled Project Manager / Project Engineer to support custom design projects for industrial fan equipment used in diverse industrial applications. In this role, you'll ensure the accuracy of order write-ups, bills of materials, and drawings for custom-built products while interpreting and applying customer specifications and project details. This role requires precision, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently and cross-functionally to deliver high-quality products on schedule and within budget.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Custom Order Management: Review and interpret specifications, design documents, and equipment schedules, selecting the most effective fans and blowers for each unique application.
- Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with sales representatives and clients to confirm special product requirements, maintaining clear and proactive communication.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead and coordinate a cross-functional team to oversee the design, production, and timely delivery of special-build fans.
- Technical Review and Accuracy: Assure the technical accuracy of order write-ups, bills of materials, and drawings using tools like SolidWorks.
- Risk and Project Management: Manage multiple projects, mitigate risks, and ensure quality and budgetary compliance.
- Vendor and Purchase Support: Define special purchased components and assist with questions from vendors or purchasing during the quoting, manufacturing, and installation phases.
- Product Expertise: Guide assembly and operation, including drive selections, coupling, seal applications, and related electrical components in makeup air units.
Qualifications and Required Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (BSME) or related field with 3-5 years of industrial experience, preferably in project management within manufacturing.
- Technical Proficiency: Experienced in SolidWorks (or similar), with a good understanding of fluid flow, fan applications, and fiberglass reinforced plastics (FRP) relevant to air-moving equipment is a plus, but not required.
- Project Management: Demonstrated skills in leading cross-functional projects, risk forecasting, and maintaining organizational priorities.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to clearly articulate technical needs and project expectations with clients and team members.
- Motivated and Goal-Oriented: Ability to work independently, self-motivate, and drive projects to completion on time.
