Headquartered in Doraville, Georgia, Pull-A-Part is America’s largest, privately owned automotive recycler. With 37 facilities across 16 states, Pull-A-Part is responsible for pulling hundreds of thousands of end-of-life vehicles off the road. In doing so Pull-A-Part extends the life of products, prevents thousands of gallons of pollutants from escaping into our rivers and streams, and ensures the recycling of all the components of a vehicle thus keeping our supply chains strong. What We’re Looking For:
The External Affairs department handles the Government Affairs, Community Relations, and Regulatory Compliance (Environmental/Safety) federally and for all 16 states in which it operates. The department is seeking an intern who can spearhead projects that focus on building extensive community, political, and journalistic profiles for each community in which Pull-A-Part operates. This is a paid, part-time (20 hours per week) internship. The internship will begin January 2025 and last for approximately 6-8 weeks.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
For this opportunity you will report directly to the Senior Vice President of External Affairs, and you will fulfill the following job responsibilities & qualifications:
- Research jurisdictions that we operate in to gather information.
- Observe legislative / policy calls and meetings.
- Implement community relations initiatives when directed.
- Collect and enter data to build contact lists using Microsoft Excel.
- Manage and complete assigned projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Available to work 20 hours a week for a period of 6-8 weeks starting January 2025.
- 3+ years of experience utilizing Microsoft Excel.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Political Science, Environmental Science, Journalism, or related field.
- 1+ years of experience managing projects.
- Access to a personal computer, phone, and Wi-Fi to complete assignments.
- Must be able to commute into the office and complete office-based tasks when directed (only 10% of the time).
- Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills, thriving on independent and efficient work.
- Ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
- Experience with elected officials, media, and community relations is preferred.
