Description

Through our shared values and culture of professional team service, we engage and inspire the Aggie Network to support Texas Aggies and perpetuate the Aggie Spirit. We seek an individual to join a highly motivated team in selflessly advancing The Association of Former Students’ noble mission as part of our Marketing and Creative Services team by providing video production and photography support to departmental staff, programs, campus beneficiaries and affiliate organizations.

DUTIES 

Supports The Association’s video production and photography initiatives. 

  • Shoots and edits videography and photography material from activities and events at the Clayton W. Williams, Jr. Alumni Center as well as at on-campus and off-campus events. 
  • Produces videos to be used on various Association communications channels, including the Huddleston Video Wall, Association social media channels, AggieNetwork.com, and in presentations. 
  • Designs graphics within the Adobe Creative Suite to be used in videos and other multimedia projects. 
  • Edits pre-existing video footage into material to be used by a wide variety of departments. 
  • Organizes and archives video footage for use in current and future projects. 
  • Creates presentations using both video and photography for Association activities and events. 
  • Oversees the photography program for The Association, including but not limited to scheduling and coordinating external photographers and maintaining and overseeing the organization’s photo database. 
  • Assists with photography projects as needed and logs photos into The Association’s photography repository. 
  • Works daily with PC editing software. 
  • Performs related duties and works on special projects as needed and assigned by the Vice President or by the Director of Marketing.  

Participates in and provides input on various Association-wide activities: 

  • Actively contributes toward efforts to achieve our culture, engagement, and fundraising goals. 
  • Provides on-site event support for Board and Leadership Council meetings. 
  • Participates on internal event teams and task committees. 
  • Participates in Association events, which may include Aggie Muster, Aggie Ring Day, All-Aggie Grad Party, All-Aggie Hullabaloo, Distinguished Alumni Gala, Reunions, Pass It Back Day, Thank an Ag Day, All-Team Meetings, gameday receptions, and others as required. 

Serves as an ambassador for The Association: 

  • Meets our Team Expectations. 
  • Supports The Association’s marketing, communications, and branding initiatives. 
  • Fosters relationships with students, former students, faculty, staff, and friends of Texas A&M.  
  • Attends external events on behalf of The Association, if directed.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES 

Required: Sound judgment and utmost discretion. Ability to provide good customer service, pay attention to detail, meet deadlines, and figure out how to accomplish tasks without specific step-by-step instructions and close supervision. Strong time management skills and ability to handle a wide variety of concurrent tasks and projects while meeting tight deadlines. Ability to work effectively with a variety of unique personalities and individuals. Ability to sit or stand at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods. Proficiency in filming video and capturing photography with a variety of camera equipment, as well as editing within the Adobe Creative Suite. Understanding of photography principles with the ability to take professional-quality photographs. Extensive knowledge of video, including but not limited to ISO, white balance, frame rate, and file formatting. Ability to capture, process and manage digital video from source materials. Demonstrated proficiency in non-linear editing software package (e.g., Adobe Premier, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve) and ability to edit professional-quality video from conception to completion using Adobe Premier and After Effects. Knowledge of setting up light packages for interviews. Basic understanding of sound capture and editing for video. Ability to work within Adobe Creative Suite using a Windows PC to design graphics. Proficiency in MS PowerPoint and the ability to embed photography, video and audio.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS 

Strong commitment to the vision and mission of The Association of Former Students, with the ability and desire to advocate for the organization and Texas A&M University. High energy level and intrinsic motivation. Willingness to accept constructive criticism and have patience through creation process. Availability to work occasional irregular hours, including evenings and weekends. 


EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE 

Required: Bachelor’s degree in a graphic design/visual communications discipline, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Photography and videography experience, including editing. 

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University.
