Job Summary 

The Staff Recruiter position at the Greater Pittsburgh Community  Food will not only assist with our internal and external recruitment of staff but will assist with building relationships with outside organizations. This individual will be responsible for developing job descriptions, posting job descriptions, sourcing candidates, scheduling interviews, creating a diverse talent pipeline and managing all candidate activity in the recruiting system. This role will require regular interaction with internal and external candidates, hiring managers, and other members of the Human Resources team. 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Create and refine job descriptions alongside hiring managers.
  • Post job openings internal and external.
  • Update and maintain all candidate activity within the HRIS system in a timely manner.
  • Screen applicants, schedule interviews, coordinate virtual and in person interviews, and solicit feedback from interviewers.
  • Communicate status of background reports in order to clear candidates for hire.
  • Develop rapport with recruiting agencies and reach out to them when necessary to assist with recruitment efforts.
  • Coordinate internally with hiring managers, to understand the details of open positions and overall team needs.
  • Conduct regular meetings with HR team to provide updates on open positions, discuss any recruiting challenges, and brainstorm on potential improvements.
  • Maintain reports for Human Resources Director regarding open positions and overall recruiting status.
  • Innovate ways to build a diverse talent pipeline and recruit using a variety of different approaches.
  • Run background checks on new hires.
  • Help coordinate first day activities for new hires.
  • Back up coverage for the Front Desk Receptionist as needed.
  • Coordinate new employee learning experiences with both the employee and the departments,
  • Send monthly reminders to new employees about learning experiences that need completed.
  • Update and maintain excel spreadsheet that tracks learning experiences.


Requirements

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources preferred but not required. 
  • Two to five years of recruiting experience recommended.
  • Must be organized and detailed-oriented. 
  • Must have excellent oral and written communications skills, possess good listening skills, and have an approachable demeanor. 
  • Must be able to work well independently, but also as part of a team. 
  • Ability to deliver results with little supervision, and effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects and candidates. 
  • Knowledge of hiring laws is vital.
  • Excellent computer skills are required.
  • Must be able to pass Criminal Background Check and Act 33/34 Clearance checks.

Salary Description
Minimum annual salary is $39,000
