The Facilities Technician II supports and maintains the Mikron Facility to uphold high-quality standards for performance manufacturing. The Facilities Department collaborates with internal departments and external suppliers to maintain the facility effectively and efficiently. This role is multifaceted, involving routine maintenance and troubleshooting complex system issues to ensure the facility remains in optimal condition.


Duties and Responsibilities:


Preventative and Routine Maintenance:

  • Execute all necessary preventative and routine maintenance tasks on a consistent, scheduled basis.
  • Verify that all facility maintenance is performed correctly and on schedule, supporting the Facilities Technician team and Supervisor.

System and Equipment Maintenance:

  • Maintain electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, alarm systems, automatic doors, EV charging stations, and overall company fixtures and equipment.
  • Perform indoor and outdoor building repairs and general maintenance.

Grounds Keeping and Landscaping:

  • Conduct all grounds keeping and landscaping tasks, including snow removal, de-icing, lawn and landscape services, sprinkler system maintenance, and parking lot upkeep.

Facility Upkeep:

  • Manage trash collection, facility cleaning, and stocking of supplies.
  • Oversee pest control and fire suppression systems.

Shipping and Heavy Equipment Operations:

  • Construct shipping crates, pack equipment for shipment, and photograph shipments before departure.
  • Operate heavy equipment such as scissor lifts and forklifts.

Pneumatic Connections and Small Repairs:

  • Establish pneumatic connections to equipment as needed.
  • Perform small facility repairs, including drywall installation, patching, and painting.

Warehouse Maintenance:

  • Maintain, clean, and organize common areas of the warehouse.
  • Keep maintenance and safety logs for machinery.

Communication and Improvement:

  • Review and respond to Mikron Facilities Ticket system and email requests.
  • Identify and recommend improvements related to safety, department efficiency, or cost control to the supervisor.

Support Roles:

  • Assist the GM and Executive Assistant to the GM with assigned activities.
  • Support the Safety Department and Logistics team with assigned tasks.
  • Aid the Supervisor or Department Manager with projects or vendor oversight as assigned.

Requirements

Employment Qualifications:

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must have a valid state driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Professional & Technical Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant, hands-on experience.
  • Trade certification or diploma, or building maintenance experience preferred.

Other Job-Related Experience or Requirements:

  • Assist with loading and offloading heavy equipment as needed, in conjunction with the Shipping & Receiving team.
  • Help maintain and organize conference rooms as necessary.
  • Move supplies from the warehouse to the main office for the front desk as requested (e.g., moving pallets of water or reams/boxes of printer paper).
  • Stock and replenish consumables for facilities as needed, including toilet paper, paper towels, air fresheners, and hand soap for restrooms.
  • Install, service, and maintain company equipment such as water machines, ice machines, coffee machines, and bathroom towel and soap dispensers.
  • Hang pictures, window coverings, or window film, and assist with keying and replacing door handles and fixtures.
  • Dispose of and/or recycle material pallets in support of the Facilities Supervisor.
  • Perform janitorial services as required to support the janitorial contractor and maintain general cleanliness on property grounds.
  • General mechanical experience and knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous forklift certifications required.
  • Forklift and scissor lift operation experience required.
  • Previous demonstrated work experience showing mechanical aptitude.

Special Skills Required:

  • Experience in construction, electrical, welding, metal fabrication, and pneumatic systems is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of high-pressure pneumatic systems.
  • Handyman skills, such as the use of hand and power tools, painting, plumbing, electrical, and general repair.
  • Forklift certification preferred; minimum 1-year previous knowledge and experience in forklift operation required.
