Project Management Intern
Fully Remote Alexandria, VA
Description

NJI is a wildly creative and strategically disciplined agency with offices in London, Washington, D.C., and Singapore. We work seamlessly across teams and time zones to align and deliver for our clients. We are looking for a Spring Strategy Intern to join our team in January.

The Job.

Good news. This is a paid internship.

Bad news. This is not an episode of Mad Men or Emily in Paris.

Your semester-long experience at NJI will equip you with skills you will use throughout your career and open doors to ideas and opportunities you haven’t even considered yet.

At the end of all of it you will feel strongly about creative agency life. Either it's for you and you can’t wait to get more experience or you will want to slam the door and move on to the next career chapter for you. Either outcome is cool with us.

What matters to us is you show up and are professional, trustworthy, and hardworking for the entire time you commit to this internship. Still interested? Read on.

NJI is an American design agency with offices in Washington, D.C., London, and Singapore that practices our craft in service of ambitious policy-minded clients that seek to influence, persuade or change the dialogue around issues that matter most to them.

We work for private sector clients, associations, nonprofits, and select startups. This means our work is deeply rooted in understanding our client’s organizationational goals and advising them with a creative strategy that may stretch across digital or print design, video, web development, social media and more. We do policy not politics. We do issues not products.

Our client relationships are managed by strategists. Gentle lions that invest deeply in understanding our clients needs so they can develop and advocate for ideas that are both creatively ambitious and goal-aligned. They are fierce writers and project managers that endeavor to improve their own work daily and support their colleagues without fail.

Our creative work is executed across our design, development, and video teams with the highest caliber of deliverables being required of each and every project.

This internship is focused on NJI's account strategy team but will have exposure to and work alongside all of our departments. Students or recent graduates interested must demonstrate a strong writing ability, work ethic, and interest in exploring client management as a career path.

Applications are not limited to specific majors. Typically students at the rising junior undergraduate level and above are most successful in internship roles at NJI. We all “make coffee and copies” at NJI, so if you’re not the roll up your sleeves type, please move along.

If you want to know more about NJI and get a flavor for who we are, check out our website and social channels. Please do not email your questions or application to various email addresses you may track down. We’re a stickler for process.

Work Hard Where You Are.

Part of our secret sauce is knowing that good talent can live anywhere. We actively encourage individuals to apply from across the country. NJI has U.S. team members located coast to coast as part of our HQ team based in Washington, D.C. From farmers to urban foragers, trapeze artists to Mario Kart fanatics, we have colleagues with diverse interests and addresses. This position is remote-eligible, and NJI maintains a hybrid/remote work policy for all offices. We are unable to offer work visa sponsorship at this time.

Cover Letter.

We think of cover letters more in the old-fashioned pen pal sense. So, keep the job summary and skills list in your resume, and write something that personally expresses who you are and what draws you to NJI and this role. Oh, and did you catch those grammatical errors above? If you did, be sure to let us know what they are in your letter.

Diversity Commitment.

Authenticity is the foundation of boundless creativity. Rooted in diverse life experience, our team challenges the status quo through our work and culture every day. We are committed to sustaining and improving NJI's inclusive workplace by actively expanding the diversity of our team. We encourage people from underrepresented groups to apply. If you require accommodations or assistance during the application process, please contact info@njimedia.com.
