About the School:
Saint Andrew's Episcopal School is an independent school for Pre-Kindergarten through 8th-grade students in Saratoga, California. Summary of Role:
The coach is responsible for all aspects of directing the team's practice and play in games. Most of the participants will have previous experience playing basketball, but others will be playing their first organized basketball season. Each team participates in a league and has a set practice schedule. Practices: Wednesday 4:45-6:15 pm and Thursday 3:15-4:45 pm. Games are during the week. This is an 8-game regular season; Possible tournament play during the week and weekends.
Qualifications:
- Must have previous experience coaching basketball or played at a higher level (high school, college, professional level)
- Must be able to attend both practices and games for the specified season
- Must be of sound mind, good character, and remain human-centered.
Season:
January to Mid March 2025
Compensation:
$1,500 for season
- To teach Basketball drills, concepts and strategy through effectively planned practices at a level appropriate for each member of the team.
- To organize the players to participate in games and coach them during the games.
- To effectively communicate to players, parents, and Athletic Director
- To provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all players, giving each child an equal opportunity to participate.
- To communicate effectively with the Athletic Director on all matters of policy.
- To serve as a positive role model to players, parents, officials, and fellow coaches by following all rules, demonstrating good sportsmanship/sportswomanship.
- To communicate good health and fitness principles and positive character development concepts to players, parents, and spectators.
- To be responsible for equipment needed during the season
- To collaborate with other Saint Andrew’s coaches about skill development and best practices
- To represent the Saint Andrew’s Episcopal School in a positive manner
- Coach is expected to be on campus twice weekly for scheduled practices and games.
