JOB SUMMARY
As an ETL Developer at Artisan Design Group, you will be responsible for designing, building, and managing data pipelines and workflows that support our business needs across both on-premises and cloud environments. This role requires a strong focus on data integration, automation, and optimization of data processes using Azure Data Factory, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Python, and other tools like PowerShell, Power Automate, and Remote Desktop Connections.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional duties may be assigned, as necessary.
1. ETL Pipeline Development
- Design, implement, and manage ETL processes using Azure Data Factory and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Create and maintain data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources to cloud or on-prem environments.
- Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot complex data workflows for moving data efficiently across systems.
2. Cloud & On-Premise Data Integration
- Collaborate in managing and integrating data from on-premises and cloud-based servers, including hybrid environments.
- Ensure smooth and secure data transfers using appropriate tools and protocols.
3. Automation & Scripting
- Automate tasks and data workflows using PowerShell, Python, and Power Automate to enhance productivity and reliability.
- Maintain automated data processes that ensure data availability and quality.
4. Pipeline Management
- Oversee the performance and stability of ETL pipelines, identifying bottlenecks or errors, and resolve issues quickly to maintain system reliability.
- Document and monitor data flows for compliance and efficiency.
5. Data Movement & Integration
- Implement secure, reliable, and scalable methods for data transfer, ensuring data integrity during movement.
- Collaborate with different departments to gather and translate data requirements into actionable data flows.
6. Collaboration & Teamwork
- Work as part of a cross-functional team to implement and maintain data solutions that meet the business's needs.
- Actively participate in team meetings, sharing insights and contributing to problem-solving efforts.
7. Independent Work & Problem-Solving
- Take ownership of assigned tasks, working independently to deliver solutions within deadlines.
- Show initiative in troubleshooting and problem-solving, taking a proactive approach to improving workflows.
8. Remote Connectivity
- Use Remote Desktop Connections and other remote access tools to manage and maintain systems that are not physically accessible.
9.Continuous Learning & Development
- Stay current with the latest tools, trends, and best practices in ETL, cloud technologies, and data management.
- Foster a mindset of continuous improvement and life-long learning, attending relevant trainings or obtaining certifications as needed.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS To successfully perform this role, the individual must be able to meet the requirements outlined below. Reasonable accommodation may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
- 3+ years of experience with ETL tools like Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or similar.
- Strong SQL and T-SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Proficiency with Python for scripting and automation.
- Experience with PowerShell for task automation.
- Familiarity with Power Automate and its role in data workflows.
- Experience with pipeline creation and management in cloud (Azure) and on-premise environments.
- Solid understanding of data security and compliance principles for data movement.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to continuous learning and growth in the field of data engineering.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with Azure Data Services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Blob Storage, and Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD for pipeline deployment.
- Certification in Azure or Data Engineering is a plus.
