The Residential Services Director is responsible for the residential home environments and providing strategic leadership in concert with the School Leadership Team and other Directors in the administration, supervision, organization, and continuous improvement of residential and instructional programs.
As a Residential Services Director, you will:
- Operations Management: Accelerate the unified system of service delivery between the classroom and residential settings for each Group home during all residential hours. Develop supervisors in their leadership abilities to foster a positive residential environment that meets or exceeds the licensing requirements of the Kansas Department of Children and Families and CARF accreditation. - Strategic Leadership: Spearhead the strategic planning, budget planning, and recommendations pertinent to residential activities, including plans and projections for staff support and equipment as appropriate. (Possibility)
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all programs and records comply with state and federal regulations and industry standards. Provide regular updates to key stakeholders on relevant initiatives. (Integrity)
- Communication: Engage in clear, effective, and relevant written and verbal communication, relaying critical information, updates, and concerns in an interactive and customer service minded manner. (Celebration)

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, behavioral science, or related field.
- 3+ years of formal leadership experience.
- 5+ years of program experience working with individuals with multiple developmental disabilities and knowledge of related issues. Experience in a residential setting preferred.
- CPR Certification maintained and in good standing.
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification maintained and in good standing.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to perform a variety of physical activities, including but not limited to, walking, standing, sitting, stooping, squatting, bending, twisting, reaching, and kneeling for extended periods.
- Ability to run short distances, if required, to respond to emergencies or client needs.
- Regularly lift and carry items up to 10 pounds, with occasional lifting of items up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to engage in physical activities and interventions to ensure client safety and well-being.
Work Environment:
- Potential exposure to infectious diseases, parasites, bodily fluids, and blood-borne pathogens in a residential care setting. Training and appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be provided to mitigate risks.
- Mandatory use of Heartspring standard PPE, with additional protective gear (e.g., gloves, helmets, arm guards, leg guards) provided as needed.
- May involve exposure to physical interactions from students, including but not limited to slapping, hitting, punching, kicking, head-butting, and biting.
- Occasional exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, and snow/ice.
Salary Description
$70,596 - $103,541 depending on experience
