Description

We seek an individual to join a highly motivated team in selflessly advancing The Association of Former Students’ noble mission by serving in a key supporting role on our Development team. While fostering our team culture in line with The Association’s Team Expectations as well as our team’s core values, the ideal candidate will be someone who demonstrates skill in and devotion to providing premier customer service, exhibiting a high level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills to effectively and efficiently manage multiple efforts at a time, and serving as a professional ambassador for The Association and Texas A&M.

DUTIES

Performs duties in support of the Assistant Director of Development and Manager of Development:

  • Delivers exceptional customer service through correspondence with prospects and donors by email, phone, mail, and in person.
  • Answers and screens calls and makes appointments.
  • Greets guests and assists with walk-in donors.
  • Files and scans proposals and gift agreements.
  • Prepares recognition pieces for Endowed Century Club and Aggie Ring Scholarship donors.
  • Maintains Endowed Century Club and Aggie Ring Scholarship database checklists.
  • Maintains Endowed Century Club inventory.
  • Answers letters and routes mail to appropriate team members.
  • Assists with preparations for board meetings, prospective donor visits, donor recognition and events.
  • Performs data entry and database cleanup tasks.
  • Prepares mailings, such as annual Endowed Century Club Year Bar and Development prospect mailings.
  • Coordinates attendance of prospects and donors at Association and Texas A&M University events and updates database with contact reports.
  • Assists with scheduling and coordinating special presentations on all Aggie Ring Days.
  • Provides office support for special events as needed, including luncheons, dinners, tailgates, baseball games and football games.
  • Performs various administrative duties as requested. 

Participates in and provides input on various Association-wide activities:

  • Actively contributes toward efforts to achieve our culture, engagement, and fundraising goals.
  • Provides on-site event support for Board and Leadership Council meetings.
  • Participates on internal event teams and task committees.
  • Participates in Association events, which may include Aggie Muster, Aggie Ring Day, All-Aggie Grad Party, All-Aggie Hullabaloo, Distinguished Alumni Gala, Reunions, Pass It Back Day, Thank an Ag Day, All-Team Meetings, gameday receptions, and others as required.

Serves as an ambassador for The Association:

  • Meets our Team Expectations.
  • Supports The Association’s marketing, communications, and branding initiatives.
  • Fosters relationships with students, former students, faculty, staff, and friends of Texas A&M. 
  • Attends external events on behalf of The Association, as directed.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Required: Sound judgment and utmost discretion to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Strong customer service and organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent oral and written communications skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism. Ability to work effectively as part of a team of unique personalities. Proficiency with standard office equipment and software, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to sit or stand at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods. Ability to lift 30 pounds.

Preferred: Advanced software skills, including the Microsoft Office suite and a Salesforce-based database.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Strong commitment to the vision and mission of The Association of Former Students, with the ability and desire to advocate for the organization and Texas A&M University. High energy level, intrinsic motivation, and a strong desire for learning and growth. Professional attire and behavior. Texas driver’s license and ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. 


EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

Required: High school graduate.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree.
