Position Overview:


The position Senior Manager Human Resources (SMHR) will report to the Senior Director, People Operations, to further develop and execute administration of organizational policies and procedures to support our people. This includes the planning, development, implementation, and administration of Human Resources (HR) functions to achieve organizational objectives related to employee engagement, payroll, benefits, culture and recruitment. 


What you will do:

  • Manage HR administration: payroll processing, benefits, leave of absences, recruiting, talent management, recognition programs, employee engagement and the professional development program. 
  • Coordinate internal and external training resources to ensure effective and efficient learning experiences.
  • Ensure effective recruitment strategies along with HR leadership to develop a talent pipeline of candidates.
  • Manage the administration of employee files, paperwork, and documentation, conducting file audits for compliance with State and Federal laws.
  • Be the first point of contact to answer employee requests and questions related to timecards, HR policies, benefits and procedures.
  • Facilitate employee engagement, retention, and development initiatives, such as feedback surveys and learning opportunities.
  • Proactively enhances our hybrid-remote work environment to support organizational efficiency and foster a high-performing feedback centered work culture. 
  • Create and analyze HR data and metrics to provide insights and establish return on investment of HR initiatives. 
  • Stay updated on the latest HR trends, best practices, and legal regulations and ensure compliance across the organization.
  • Lead the onboarding and off-boarding process, including managing sensitive information.
  • Work independently or with little direction having the ability to solve problems based on sound decision making strategies.
Requirements

What you will have:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred with strong emphasis on personal lived/professional experience. 
  • 5+ years’ HR Generalist experience preferably in a non-profit environment.
  • 3+ years’ experience with the human resources information system (HRIS) preferably Paylocity.
  • Strong commitment to creating solutions and documenting processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of a broad range of human resource strategies including performance management, recruitment, employee relations (preferably with unionized staff).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people at different levels, including senior staff members.
  • Proficiency in Office365 and project management apps (Slack, Asana, etc.).

Physical Asks:

  • Ability to engage in a hybrid remote work environment in our shared downtown co-working space or working remotely.
  • Must live in Los Angeles County and be available for face-to-face collaboration when necessary.

Salary Description
$80,000 - $95,000
