Position Summary:
The Central Music Director will focus on supporting Rock Church Worship in the area of music, This includes Sunday Services, pre-recorded programming, major seasonal events and initiatives (Christmas, Easter, Floodgate Nights of Worship, Core Ministry Events, etc.). Central MD will communicate with worship pastors/directors to develop the flow of setlists and preparation of any musical accompaniment necessary, (live and tracked musical elements.) Central MD will provide training and training resources to help the Rock Worship musicians to grow in excellence. As a global-reaching, multi-cultural church, this person has the ability to navigate and understand different musical genres/styles. Communicates clearly, and promotes the worship culture of the church.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports weekly services, rehearsals, and sound checks including Sunday worship services, major events, projects, etc.
- Leads the charge of cultivating a Rock Church's “sound” and “feel”
- Arrange and execute various genres and styles of music.
- Creates stems/tracks/resources for worship services and rehearsals (tracks, pads, etc) and makes resources “central” and accessible to all campuses.
- Manages and maintains Rock Church Worship gear and equipment.
- Project manage the band for Sunday services, Midweek rehearsals, Core Ministry Events, Major Holidays, and Special Events.
- Arrange recording references and chord charts (if needed) for band/team
- Communicate with the team throughout the week (on-call) to ensure excellence for rehearsals and services.
- Leads training and growth strategy for Rock Church worship team.
- Organizes training, systems, and processes.
- Transcribing and arranging/orchestration of instruments (brass, strings, etc.)
- Manage PCO and keep it up to date. (At least one week ahead)
- Communicate with production on a regular to maintain technical/audio excellence. Be innovative in this area as well. *** This may require a visit to the campus outside of Wednesday rehearsal times and Sunday workdays (Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday.
- Attend Planning meetings for special filmings like Christmas and Easter or Creative Content
- Prepare original music for video bumpers as necessary.
- Arrange and records Rock Church Worship original music.
- Proficient in utilizing multiple DAW systems.
- Participates in regular visits to campuses to help provide feedback and next steps in the musical area of Sunday experiences to uphold a high standard of musical excellence.
- Helps in the development of more volunteer musicians at Rock Church by creating systems and processes of growth.

Education, Training, and Experience
- Musical background, worship team experience, and heart to serve are highly recommended (a degree in music is not required but preferable)
- Demonstrated skills and techniques to recognize problems, issues, and situations, and apply resourcefulness in finding appropriate solutions to mitigate potential negative effects; ability to follow through to ensure effective resolution
- Proven ability to interact in a consistently positive manner with external clientele, including applicants, volunteers, vendors, visitors, and guests, using a high degree of tact, diplomacy, discretion, flexibility, respect, and courtesy in gesture and speech
- Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions based on the vision and values of the Rock Church and the Worship Department

Organizational and Spiritual Requirements:
- Demonstrate Christ-centered behavior at all times by treating people with dignity, respect, compassion, and integrity.
- Utilize the principles of Matthew 18 and Ephesians 4:15 to resolve differences of opinion with others.
- Successful completion of thorough pre-employment references and background checks, which include: social security verification, Local, State & Federal criminal conviction records search, national security database, and sex offender registry.
- Attendance at all mandatory meetings and events. This includes serving at Good Friday, Easter, and Christmas services as well as the annual volunteer appreciation event.
- Member of the Rock Church (or willing to transfer membership to the Rock Church).
- Regular involvement in Rock Church activities, ministries, and events.
- Tithe 10% to the Rock Church.
- Signed acknowledgment of the Rock’s Statement of Faith.
- Ability to interpret and adhere to the Rock’s policies, procedures, and employee handbook.
- Be self-motivated and goal-oriented, use good judgment, and be flexible and innovative.
- Professional attitude and demeanor.
Physical Requirements:
