Project Manager II
Description

As a Project Manager II at BWF, you'll use your expertise and experience to help nonprofit organizations across the country and world strengthen their philanthropy efforts and advance their missions. This position is part of the company’s Project Management Office (PMO) team, which provides a full range of project management and research support to all client projects. The Project Manager II position assists project teams, budgets and workplans and works directly with both the BWF project team and our client partners. This position requires previous project management experience, organization, communication, good judgement, and proactive time management. The ability to exercise initiative, independent judgement, and have accountability for various processes and projects is critical.

Requirements
  • Managing day-to-day operations of multiple projects from start to finish including budgets, deliverables, milestones, and required activities; communicating project status with consultants and clients on a regular basis.
  • Utilizing company tools, software and methodology, as appropriate, for management of all client projects. 
  • Collaborating with consulting team members and clients to gather requirements for the creation of both internal and client-facing documentation and reports, data analysis benchmarking, and other project specific deliverables.
  • Contributing to and taking ownership in the preparation of client deliverables, including presentations, reports and correspondence. 
  • Assisting in the development and documentation of processes and procedures as they relate to the PMO and project management at the company. 
  • Coordinating the collection and dissemination of research resources, such as industry-published reports. 
  • Participating and providing leadership in company initiatives and special projects as directed. 
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

  

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional experience
  • 2 years of project management experience or formal project management training or certification and the ability to manage multiple components of complex projects.
  • Working knowledge of project management methodology 
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software and CRM Software. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
  • Well-developed organizational and prioritization skills; flexibility; attention to detail; and the ability to work both independently and with a team toward a common goal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Strong analytical, and interpersonal skills; initiative and follow-through; sound discretion and judgment.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Familiarity with the nonprofit sector a plus. 
  • Proficiency in project management tools, survey software, database applications and Internet research tools. 
  • Familiarity with the nonprofit sector a plus. 

Work Environment/Conditions

  • This position is based in the company’s Minneapolis office. Employees in our Minneapolis office are currently working in a hybrid model, spending days in the office and remotely each week. 
  • Position requires ability to work in a stationary position for majority of workday.
  • Continuous use of computer.
  • Frequent communication with team and clients via zoom and in person.
  • This is an exempt position that requires at least 40 hour of work per week but due to the nature of this role, additional hours are required when deadlines need to be met.
  • Overnight travel to client sites, conferences or company meetings is sometimes required (up to 10%).

Compensation and Benefits Annual base salary range of $59,000 to $64,000 based on qualifications and experience.
