Purpose: 

The Marketing Director is responsible for developing and executing a strategic marketing and communications plan that aligns with the mission and objectives of Change Church. This role will lead all aspects of digital marketing, content creation, brand management, and external communications, while overseeing the Digital Specialist and Marketing Specialist. The Marketing Director will also play a critical role in implementing systems and processes to optimize workflows, manage content, and ensure consistency across platforms. This individual will work collaboratively with internal departments and external vendors to enhance the church’s visibility, engagement, and brand presence.

  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to interpret analytics and performance data to adjust strategies and improve marketing outcomes. Proficiency in using tools such as Google Analytics, social media insights, and email marketing platforms to monitor and report on campaign performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in marketing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing digital marketing strategies, social media, and website content.
  • Strong understanding of SEO, content optimization, and audience engagement strategies.
  • Experience working with external vendors, contractors, and media outlets.
  • Familiarity with project management tools, analytics software, and digital marketing platforms

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Serve in excellence by being early and prepared for all scheduled meetings.

Strategic Marketing & Systems Implementation:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communication strategy that aligns with Change Church’s vision, values, and goals.
  • Design and implement systems and processes to manage the efficient creation, review, and distribution of marketing content across platforms.
  • Utilize digital tools such as project management systems (e.g., monday.com) to organize tasks, track progress, and ensure that timelines are met.
  • Conduct market research to identify key audiences, trends, and opportunities for growth, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Set measurable marketing goals, track effectiveness, and adjust strategies using data-driven insights.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to streamline content approval, communication, and task management processes, ensuring seamless execution across departments.

Brand Management:

  • Ensure consistent brand identity across all communication channels, adhering to Change Church’s brand guidelines.
  • Implement systems for regular review and maintenance of all digital and print materials to ensure alignment with the church’s vision and messaging.
  • Monitor and protect the church's brand reputation, ensuring that all content and external communications reflect the church’s values.
  • Oversee brand consistency in promotional materials, digital campaigns, and event marketing.

Digital Marketing & Content Oversight:

  • Oversee Change Church’s digital presence, including website management, social media strategy, email marketing, and online advertising.
  • Work with the Digital Specialist to create and execute engaging digital campaigns that drive engagement and conversions.
  • Develop processes for managing content calendars, task assignments, and review workflows to ensure all digital assets are delivered on time.
  • Implement strategies to optimize SEO, enhance online visibility, and improve digital engagement metrics (traffic, conversions, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the Digital Specialist and Marketing Specialist to manage content workflows and ensure content is aligned with church initiatives and goals.

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the marketing team, including the Digital Specialist and Marketing Specialist.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, encouraging creativity and excellence in both strategy development and content execution.
  • Work with ministry leaders, staff, and volunteers to gather information, coordinate marketing efforts, and develop communication strategies.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with the marketing team to review progress, discuss analytics, and adjust strategies for optimal results.

Public Relations & Media Relations:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and requests, representing Change Church in all public-facing communications.
  • Build relationships with local and regional media outlets to enhance the visibility of Change Church.
  • Write and distribute press releases, manage media coverage of events, and ensure all public relations efforts align with the church’s mission.

Social Media & YouTube Strategy:

  • Oversee the social media strategy and execution across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.), collaborating with the Digital Specialist to manage content and posting schedules.
  • Develop and implement strategies for Change Church’s YouTube channel, including content programming, optimization, and engagement tracking.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to support the execution of the YouTube and social media strategies.

Project Management & Systems Optimization:

  • Implement project management systems to streamline marketing deliverables, content approvals, and collaboration with external contractors and vendors.
  • Manage external marketing initiatives, including billboards, mailers, and print materials, ensuring that all projects meet the church's brand and communication standards.
  • Develop and manage systems for tracking deliverables, reviewing content, and reporting progress to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability across the team.
  • Oversee contractors and consultants, including graphic designers, copywriters, and web developers, ensuring they align with the church’s creative vision.

Analytics & Reporting:

  • Implement systems for tracking and analyzing digital content performance metrics (engagement rates, traffic, conversions) and use data to refine marketing strategies.
  • Regularly report on the performance of digital marketing efforts to the executive team and make data-driven adjustments to improve results.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to review analytics and trends, ensuring continuous improvement and optimization of digital strategies.
  • Other related duties as assigned
