Job Summary:

The Custom Coatings Productr oversees all operations in the Custom Coatings plant including sales, customer service, inventory, maintenance, budgeting, production, and compliance. This role is responsible for ensuring the plant runs efficiently and production goals are met in alignment with company and customer quality standards. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· This role will oversee leadership positions such as the Quality Assurance Manager, Quality Control Manager, and Sales Manager. 

· This role will provide training to new hires, provide constructive and timely performance evaluations, and coach and handle disciplinary procedures. 

· Organize, direct and oversee schedules and work of front-line employees. 

Essential Responsibilities:

· Responsible for overseeing the Custom Coatings plant - supervise processes, uphold quality expectations, and ensure optimal productivity within the department is being achieved.

· Maintain and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for work area. 

· Track and log material usage and inventory. Ensure needed supplies are stocked in accordance with production schedules.

· Communicate with customers regarding products, quotes, purchase follow-up, payments, and address any complaints, damages, or concerns. 

· Create and maintain relationships with accounts and vendors to achieve sales and business goals. 

· Responsible for ensuring that continuous maintenance of coating equipment is inspected and maintained. 

· Uphold and promote continuous improvement activities within the plant.

· Maintain appropriate records and generate reports when needed

· Oversee budgeting and forecasting for coating plant 

· Provide bids and update bid log daily.

· Track material costs and update pricing if necessary.

· Identify and communicate to management any market trends and opportunities in the field. 

· Work with sales team, management, and marketing to develop and execute strategic goals and objectives

· Work with the Compliance Manager to ensure equipment, resources, and processes follow company, federal, state, and local guidelines. 

· Oversee shipment of products to customers.

· Prepare and oversee yearly inspections. 

· Assist with personnel matters including hiring, training, evaluating performance, coaching, and initiating corrective actions. 

· Educate and enforce company policies and procedures.

· Promote a safe work environment and enforce safety rules and regulations.

· Attend classes and certification programs to remain an expert and compliant in the field.

· Demonstrated leadership experience in a powder coating, production, or similar environment.

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general professional journals, drawings, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.

· Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.

Requirements

  

Education and Experience:

· Degree or technical certification in related field is a plus.

· Previous management or plant operations experience.

· Previous experience with powder and/or liquid coating preferred.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

· Must have clear vision to view documents and read computer screen.

· Must have the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g. telephones).

· Subject to standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting of objects up to fifty (50) pounds; may occasionally be exposed to dangerous machinery, extreme weather conditions, hazardous materials, and extreme noise when working at plant locations.

· Must be able to travel on occasion to job sites, landfills, chemical plants, and powder coating plants and vendors. 

Salary Description
$94,000 - $123,000 per year.
