The Director, Quality will lead a skilled, empowered, and collaborative team of Operations specialists dedicated to fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This role is responsible for overseeing Hourigan’s Operations Support functions and providing strategic leadership for the company's Operational Continuous Improvement and Claims Mitigation efforts. The Director will focus on optimizing processes, leveraging metrics and data analytics to drive high-performance outcomes. As a senior leadership position, the Director is key to ensuring operational excellence across the organization.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and be accountable for Hourigan’s Operations Support functions, including but not limited to Scheduling, QAQC, and Operating Systems, ensuring operational delivery excellence across all projects.
  • Set goals and metrics for Operations Support functions, fostering a collaborative, improvement-driven culture.
  • Partner with senior leadership and functional leadership to develop optimal Standard Operating Procedures that balance      consistency and efficiency.
  • Initiate & monitor clear role responsibilities across the Project Lifecycle, to ensure QAQC, Schedule Adherence, and Operational Risk Management functions are industry best practice.
  • With the help of select committees, develop, improve with annual updates, and execute on the Quality Control & Schedule Adherence initiatives on Training & Development for all Operational staff.
  • Develop and implement annual Quality Control and Schedule Adherence training for operational staff.
  • Drive innovation in client services, including but not limited to Building Envelope advancements and VDC integration.
  • Provide management of selected internal subject matter expert resources, and ensure execution of agreed initiatives through training, mentorship, and change management.
  • Support initiative implementation by ensuring thoughtful and streamlined standard operating procedures.
  • Partner with Operations Leadership to develop meaningful dashboards to track implementation performance, and ROI across executedplatforms.
  • Serve as a conduit across regions to identify and replicate Operational Best Practices across the organization.
  • Accountable for achieving performance goals defined by the Organization, in support of Hourigan’s strategic agenda. 
  • Manage,coach & develop highly skilled professionals to ensure successful completion of both corporate and operational goals and initiatives.
  •  Foster and cultivate a team culture that aligns with Hourigan’s mission and values.
  • Participate in the Hourigan Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) by committing to safe work practices, raising concerns, attending, and applying safety and health training, and eliminating hazards within your capability and control and the help of safety staff.
  •  Provide resources and support to ensure positive safety and health outcomes in line with the Hourigan SHMS.



Qualifications and Experience:

  • A strong background and expertise in construction project management and/or field operations.
  • Demonstrated senior leader in deploying and managing Operational Excellence programs in large, complex organizations. 
  • Must have technical competency in process management & change management, with the ability to manage and embrace change and adapt to new processes and new ways of looking at old problems.
  • Experience in complex organizations and matrix reporting relationship.
  • Strong leadership abilities and experience including situations involving organizational culture change, a proven ability as a self-starter, and strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in use of metrics aligned to incorporate KPI's and benchmarks to drive process improvement
  • Ability to build relationships across multiple layers of the organization, with demonstrated success in initiating change through an ability to influence & encourage change
  • Ability and demonstrated experience in providing education and training related to process improvement methodologies 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong capabilities in conflict management.

  • Some periodic travel may be required.
