Description

 LAC Federal is seeking a Project Supervisor to provide planning, oversight, and support for a records management program in the Washington, D.C. area. The Supervisor will oversee a team of six conducting an extensive records review for a major federal agency sub-component. The Supervisor will be responsible for developing and planning a schedule, ensuring that staff work product conform to all NARA and agency requirements, and supervising staff across four separate physical locations in Washington, D.C.


Responsibilities:

  • Plan, direct and supervise the work of records managers and records information specialists
  • Review staff work for accuracy and completeness
  • Meet with agency personnel to discuss records and file plans
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in either archival or records management field or in a related specialty
  • NARA Certification strongly preferred
    Minimum of 5 years providing supervision of records management projects 
  • Expert knowledge of federal records management practices and guidelines for file plans and schedules
  • Ability to plan, direct, and monitor the work of others
  • Knowledge and experience with document and records management systems
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to respect confidentiality 
  • Ability to perform routine work independently
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work in a multicultural environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Must be a US citizen and able to pass a background check

  

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time and to maintain focus on projects such as computer screens or detailed paperwork. 
  • Occasionally lifting of items weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds such as files, books, and other materials.
