Traveling Teller
Description

Position Summary: Serves as a liaison between the member and the Credit Union, providing a number of member savings, checking and cashiering transactions.  Position often provides other administrative and service support duties.

Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Accept share, share draft and loan payments from members in person and by mail; receipt all miscellaneous cash transactions.
  • Perform transfer of funds between member’s accounts.
  • Receive cash from sale of money orders and travelers checks.  Maintain control register of travelers checks and money orders.
  • Provide routine information concerning credit union services and member accounts in accordance with credit union policy.
  • File membership cards, insurance and loan, and other miscellaneous files and paperwork as requested.
  • Balance cash drawer daily.
  • Assist other Member Service Representatives in running second tapes on checks as needed.
  • Balance office money orders daily as requested.
  • Balance checks for office deposit daily as requested.
  • Review all activities for compliance with established policies, procedures and regulations.  Regulations include but are not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act / Anti-Money Laundering / Office of Foreign Assets Control regulations.
  • Participate in annual training as required by the BSA/OFAC Compliance Officer
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications/Key Competencies:

  • Strong listening and communication (oral & written) skills
  • Excellent member service skills
  • The ability to prioritize and make on-the-spot decisions regarding member transactions, weighing member satisfaction issues with credit union exposure to loss or fraud.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Superb organizational skills
  • Dress and conduct oneself in a professional and business-like manner.
  • Previous related experience desirable but not required.
