SUMMARY: The Action Figures & Toys Specialist position requires a broad knowledge of toys from the 1960s to today. Responsibilities may include cataloging and writing descriptions of toys and packaging conditions, evaluating and preparing collections for auction, answering client inquiries, and participating in nationwide Toy shows and conventions. The specialist's expertise in accurately assessing toys, market knowledge, and effective communication are crucial. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Write auction descriptions for single items and group lots
- Research and estimate population data and values of toys
- Evaluate the condition and recommend toys for grading
- Estimate values and determine lots for auctions
- Respond to bidder inquiries for additional information on items at live auction
- Use Word, Excel, and proprietary Heritage software to compile listings of the consigned items for consignors and cataloging staff

COMPENSATION: Commensurate based on experience
LOCATION: South of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, NW corner of W. Airport Freeway (Hwy. 183) and Valley View Lane
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of general knowledge of the collectibles industry, primarily of action figures/toys and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with toys and appropriate reference materials
- Assessing accurate value of incoming collectibles and memorabilia
- An inquisitive, research-oriented mind
- The ability to write articles suitable for trade publications
- The ability to work in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail
