BASIC JOB FUNCTION
Irrigator specialists under direction of the Supervisor are responsible for operation and maintenance of the golf course and landscape irrigation systems. Irrigators are required to report any irregularities in course turf quality to the Supervisor. May occasionally supervise a small labor force for special projects, and performs other duties as directed by a Supervisor.
RELATIONSHIPS
Works together with all the club staff, landscape maintenance employees and golf course personnel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Water and fertilize tees, greens and fairways; apply chemicals on greens under direction; operates irrigation system pipes, heads, valves and controllers; material and parts requisitions; monitor/program irrigation computer; daily inspect greens and course areas as assigned for water management; monitor greens for disease activity; maintain inventory of parts; maintain irrigation computer office and vehicles in a clean manner.
Perform other golf/landscape maintenance tasks as directed by Supervisor.
SUPERVISION
Reports directly to the head irrigator, the golf course superintendent or the foreman.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
Employees are expected to follow the company policies at all times. This includes, but is not limited to, attendance standards, alcohol and drugs, confidentiality (and conflict of interest), dress and personal appearance, telephone use and safety procedures.
