OPPORTUNITY

The Career Success Manager, Healthcare Pathways plays a critical role in designing, overseeing, and expanding access to student-centered healthcare career programming and the community partnerships that support these efforts. This role is responsible for identifying, building, and maintaining strong strategic partnerships to support students’ hands-on learning experiences and serves as an in-house content expert on various healthcare fields and career pathways. This role collaborates with multiple 10,000 Degrees departments to develop, promote, and host successful programs and events to prepare students for their post-college career.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL

To perform the essential functions of this position, employees may be required to: 

  • Sit, stand, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
  • Have close-vision ability due to computer work.
  • Engage in moderate, occasional lifting.
  • Have a reliable means of transportation to attend regular work as well as other off-site business functions.

Requirements

 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee career workshops, curriculum, events, panels, and resources related to healthcare careers for college students and alumni. 
  • Support in the development of the healthcare career curriculum and content, including building a healthcare careers page on our Career Success website, creating student communications, and other career development opportunities.
  • Facilitate the cultivation, development, promotion, and execution of healthcare career opportunities for all college students and alumni.
  • Participate in regular program alignment meetings with the College Success, Data, and Marketing teams as well as other key staff.
  • Collaborate with community partners to support education initiatives focused on increasing access to healthcare careers for underrepresented students.
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with corporate and organizational partners.
  • Oversee the data and metrics of the grant supporting our healthcare careers initiatives to include data tracking, contributing to grant reports, and participating in meetings with the grant funder.
  • Participate in and present at healthcare career-related coalitions, networks, and conferences.
  • Identify volunteerism needs to support students in healthcare careers including collaborating with colleagues to increase Career Mentors from the healthcare industry and participating in volunteer engagement and training.
  • Support the Development team at fundraising events by representing the organization and meeting with donors and funders.
  • Travel within 10,000 Degrees regions for meetings and events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field 
  • Knowledge of healthcare careers and career pathways 
  • Experience with the healthcare industry such as advising students interested in healthcare, working in the healthcare industry, etc. 
  • High level of professionalism, promptness, and preparedness; attention to detail and excellent follow-through 
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills with experience in project management
  • Experience in career advising, hosting career events, and/or designing career curriculum with a focus on low-income and first-generation college students
  • Experience working with external corporate and organizational partners as well as creating and strengthening partnerships
  • Proficiency in Google applications, Zoom, Salesforce (or other data management platforms); experience with Canva a plus
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm and initiative with the ability to work independently
  • Willingness to learn and be self-reflective in program design
  • History of working effectively as part of a team
  • This position requires some in-person presence at our San Rafael office, as well as travel within the San Francisco Bay Area and surrounding regions served.
Salary Description
$73,000 annually
