 The Associate Dean, Nursing Academics  (ADNA) provides oversight and leadership support in planning, implementing, and evaluating the BSN and ELM nursing programs within Westcliff’s new College of Nursing. The ADNA collaborates with key leaders throughout the university to support growth, academic success, regulatory compliance, and maintain the conditions and the resources available in the facilities. The ADNA reports directly to the Executive Director of Nursing (EDN) of Westcliff University.


Duties and Responsibilities

Program Leadership

• Collaborate with EDN on initiatives to ensure the successful launch and accreditation of the BSN and ELM programs.

• Collaborate with key leaders within university on  future growth initiatives to sustain and expand nursing programs in the college

• Ensure BSN and ELM program operations are conducted in compliance with applicable governing boards, state, federal, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances, and within standards of accreditation.

• Assume duties as assigned by the EDN. 


Academic Oversight

• Assist EDN to ensure nursing curriculum meets or exceeds the standards set by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) and accrediting bodies.

• Assist with recruitment, development, and evaluation of faculty, fostering a culture of academic excellence.

• Collaborate with EDN and faculty to use evidence-based teaching practices and innovative technologies in nursing education.

• Ensure students receive comprehensive support services, including academic advising, career counseling, and tutoring.

• Develop faculty workload schedules (assignments), ensuring that faculty meet the requirements as set forth in the faculty handbook.


Regulatory and Accreditation Compliance

• Maintain compliance with all BRN, WSCUC, and other relevant accrediting bodies' regulations and standards.

• Assist with preparation of reports, renewals, and other documentation required by accrediting and regulatory bodies.

• Maintain up-to-date faculty files in accordance with accreditation standards.

• Serve as the secondary liaison with the BRN and programmatic accrediting agencies in absence of EDN.


Student Success

• Foster a student-centered environment that promotes academic achievement, retention, graduation rates, and NCLEX-RN pass rates.

• Work with EDN to ensure all areas of the student experience align with outcomes and mission to obtain the highest levels of student achievement and satisfaction. 


External Relations and Partnerships


• Represent the College of Nursing in professional organizations, conferences, and community events.

• Collaborate with EDN to develop partnerships that enhance clinical education, research opportunities, and community engagement.

Requirements

Qualifications

Required

·  Masters’ or doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited university.

·  Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.

·  Minimum of three years’ experience as a professional registered nurse providing direct patient care.

·  Minimum of two years’ experience teaching in a registered nursing program at a college or university.

Preferred

·  Doctoral degree in Nursing (PhD or DNP) or a related field

·  Evidence of progressive leadership experience, including supervisory experience and prior experience with instruction, curriculum, academic programs, and the development and growth of academic initiatives

Equity Eligible: There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. The range for hiring in US is $130K/yr-$160K/yr DOE.
