Overview of Position
The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for project management of all the organization’s marketing goals, objectives, strategies, and tactics (such as public relations, digital and print communications, events, advertising, social media, and digital media). Directs the development of marketing materials and services in support of programs and other marketing and communication needs, both internally and externally. Coordinates, measures, and evaluates the success of strategic and tactical marketing activities. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, a collaborative spirit, and a passion for fostering a positive and informed workplace culture. Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications, this position also works closely with the Special Events Manager.
Main Role and Responsibilities
- Work cross-functionally with departments to plan, launch, and assess specific marketing objectives to ensure that accurate and timely information is being communicated to key constituencies.
- Collaborate with all departments to ensure consistent brand standards so that all marketing materials accurately reflect the organization’s mission and values.
- Participate in departmental strategic planning, business planning, and budget development discussions. Provide reporting and analytics as needed to meet objectives and KPIs.
- Develop and maintain an editorial calendar of marketing and communications content.
- Provide project management oversight to public relations and content creation vendors/partners, ensuring deliverables are on schedule.
- Create social media content, manage engagement, and track analytics for outreach to ensure a regular program of messaging consistent with our strategic objectives.
- Create email and print content, distribute, and track analytics on a monthly or as-needed basis.
- Coordinate the development and dissemination of internal communication content, including executive memorandum, intranet updates, and internal announcements, ensuring consistency in messaging and alignment with OCCF’s organization voice.
- Manage the WordPress website, serving as website administrator and working with multiple departments to ensure content is regularly updated and accurate, while strategically planning key website updates and revisions to ensure a smooth and effective user-experience.
- Manage the design, production, and distribution of all marketing materials – both print and electronic, including but not limited to flyers, reports, presentations, collateral, business cards, and event invitations/mailers.
- Manage third party vendor relationships, including designers, printers, web developers, and digital service providers to ensure timeliness and high-quality deliverables.
- Provide additional support for events and outreach activities, as needed, including on-site support, collateral creation, vendor coordination, and basic project management as directed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required—preferred degree in marketing, communications, business, hospitality, or related area of study.
- A minimum of 3 -5 years of marketing experience, 5+ years preferred.
- Proven writing, speaking, and presentation skills.
- Ability to lead meetings and conference calls and present programs and services concisely.
- Ability to be a team player which means executing jobs small and large, i.e., taking meeting minutes, developing and implementing marketing programs.
- Ability to plan, organize, and direct support staff.
- Ability to conduct research, analyze data, and report on KPIs.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Knowledge of marketing tools and techniques including business-related social media and marketing automation software.
- Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills and experience with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva preferred.
- Experience with Salesforce is helpful.
- Experience in WordPress website management and maintenance preferred.
- Proficient project management skills and the flexibility to prioritize multiple project requests simultaneously in a timely and efficient manner.
- Must demonstrate a strong commitment to OCCF’s mission and core values.
Compensation & Benefits
The ability to work for an organization with a phenomenal mission, positive team-oriented work environment, a competitive salary range is $75,000 - $80,000 (Exempt) and will be commensurate with experience as well as incredible benefits including Medical, Dental & Vision, 403(b) retirement plan with an automatic contribution by the organization, 2 weeks of vacation, 2 weeks of PSL, 10 annual paid holidays and the opportunity for a 9/80 work schedule. The position will have the opportunity to work from home one day per week.
