Description

The Business Analyst is a strategic communicator and systematic organizer with a strong working knowledge of day-to-day operations and priorities within their department and the company. With their commitment to innovation, these analysts seek, develop, and help implement strategic initiatives for improved efficiency and productivity. The Business Analyst is attentive to identifying business needs for the company and customers, working on logic and analytical-based projects, developing processes for internal and external systems, and organizing, prioritizing, and leading development projects for teams.   

Requirements

 Process Improvement 

  • A liaison between the Business side of the enterprise and the information technology department or external service providers 
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather information, assess needs, and identify opportunities for operational enhancements. 
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices to provide relevant insights and recommendations to management. 
  • Assist in developing business cases for projects and initiatives, including cost-benefit analysis. 
  • Periodic review and update of Business Requirements documents 
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving, as well as working closely with managers and software developers to solve Business problems 

Implementation 

  • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of recommended solutions, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets. 
  • Facilitate training sessions and workshops to support change management initiatives and promote a culture of continuous improvement. 
  • Work closely with business users for UAT (User Acceptance Testing) support and provide help in the creation of UAT test cases and scenarios 
  • Perform triaging of UAT defects and work with Business users to either rectify requirements or clarify users’ expected behavior 

Reporting 

  • Analyze organizational processes, systems, and procedures to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions. 
  • Conduct research and data analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning initiatives. 
  • Develop and implement performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and progress toward goals. 
  • Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and recommendations based on findings and analyses. 

Professional Requirements 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or a related field 
  • Experience: Minimum two years of experience in a business analyst role or relevant applicable experience in an Insurance Agency Operations role with an interest in technology and project management required.  
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, and Power BI) and project management tools preferred. 
  • Knowledge of business process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus.

Physical Demands 

  • The physical exertion is sedentary and occurs in an office environment.  
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.  
  • Substantial movements and repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers.  
  • Individuals must have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer, and extensive reading.
