JOB SUMMARY

We’re looking for an Outside Sales and Account Manager to join our commercial sales team. This position will focus on the fast-growing multi-family rental market. An excellent professional for this role has the ability to: reach sales goals, use their interpersonal skills to gain and keep customers, maintain an understanding of our products, and continuously improve and refine sales techniques. We’ll provide the training, but with your knowledge of carpet, LVT, vinyl, tile and more, you’ll be the go-to professional for your list of accounts.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Work the majority of the time in the field calling on accounts seeking product replacement in multi-family housing. 
  • Learn and understand products and services.
  • Educate customers about services and products to determine the best options for projects.
  • Visit or meet with accounts regularly to ensure superior service.
  • Management of accounts aging receivables.
  • Show products, using samples or catalog, and emphasize salable features.
  • Quote prices and terms and prepare sales contracts for orders.
  • Ensure job margins are within profitable parameters.
  • Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of Kermans’ production and delivery schedules.
  • Work with your assigned inside support staff to keep new and existing account contact information and installation staff current in database.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with manufacturer representatives.
  • Investigate and resolve customer problems with product, installation, or deliveries within a timely manner and customer satisfaction.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company guidelines, policies and procedures, and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Prior work experience demonstrating the ability to take initiative and meet goals independently
  • Prior work experience demonstrating effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Prior customer service experience
  • Prior flooring covering or property management experience preferred but not required
  • Previous work experience using Microsoft Office applications as a daily requirement
  • Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing to independently handle customer and team requests and issues
  • Math skills acquired through high school diploma or equivalent to understand pricing and measurements, calculate bids and proposals, understand customer payments and other related financial transactions
  • Current valid driver’s license required
