Range Mental Health Center is proud to be a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). The goals of the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics program in MN are to 1) increase access to community-based mental health and substance use disorder services (particularly to under-served communities), 2) advance integration of behavioral health with physical health care, and 3) improve utilization of evidence-based practices on a more consistent basis.


Job Summary:

The Advancement Specialist is a key contributor to an organization's growth and sustainability, focusing on relationship-building, fundraising, and enhancing the organization’s reputation. The Advancement Specialist serves as a liaison between the agency and its donors, thereby establishing and maintaining engaging relationships with all key stakeholders. The Advancement Specialist is responsible for seeking funding opportunities and engaging senior leaders in vetting the opportunities and then facilitating the process to secure funding.  


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors, including individuals, corporations, and foundations.
  • Develop and execute fundraising campaigns, such as annual giving, major gifts, and capital campaigns.
  • Write grant proposals for private, local, state, and federal grant funding opportunities and communicate with key internal stakeholders when opportunities align. 
  • Manage reporting for secured grant funding.
  • Organize events to engage donors and raise funds.
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with donors, organizations, community partners, and stakeholders.
  • Conduct prospect research to identify potential supporters.
  • Maintain regular communication with donors to demonstrate impact and express gratitude.
  • Collaborate on marketing and public relations strategies to enhance the organization's image.
  • Represent the organization at community events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
  • Give presentations to community agencies, partners, and funders
  • Contributes to the creation and execution of strategic advancement plans.
  • Set measurable goals for donor engagement and fundraising outcomes.
  • Monitor and analyze fundraising performance metrics to improve strategies
  • Maintain accurate donor records.
  • Prepare reports on fundraising progress and donor engagement for leadership.
  • Coordinate with finance teams to ensure proper allocation of funds.
  • Represent and uphold the positive reputation, mission, vision, and values of Range Mental Health Center in all interactions both internal and external
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or related field preferred
  • At least two years of experience in grant applications and administration required
  • Experience with fundraising
  • Experience with non-profit organizations preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Adequate level of vision to use computer terminal, monitor, and keyboard
  • Sufficient hearing to accurately record and respond to information received verbally via phone, in person, and in a group setting
  • Ability to climb stairs
  • Must be 18 years of age
