We have an exciting opportunity for a person who is passionate about AV system documentation and design to join our team in Dallas. We seek a good collaborator who has a willingness to learn new skills.
Schuler Shook is an internationally recognized theatre, AV, and lighting consulting firm with projects in the United States and around the world. You will work with our team of collaborators in our Dallas office. We also share information and ideas with our offices in Chicago, Minneapolis, New York, San Francisco, and Melbourne, Australia.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
You will be part of our collaborative team of audio video designers. You will support the audio video design team in the design and documentation of audio video projects. You will prepare presentation materials and construction documents for a wide range of commercial spaces including performance venues, museums, offices, landscapes, sports, and hospitality. Your audio video design, performance, and/or installation background will inform your work and allow you to participate more completely in our design studios and discussions.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
Your abilities are more important to us than the number of years of experience you have, but 1 year of drafting with Revit is desired. In addition, 3 years’ experience in theatre and event production, or AV systems integration is required.
You must be a proficient visual and verbal communicator and be able to manage multiple tasks to meet client deadlines. Experience with Revit or CAD is highly recommended, and Bluebeam or Acrobat, and MS office applications is required. Experience with EASE or other loudspeaker modeling software is a plus.
An otherwise well-qualified candidate who does not have AutoCAD/Revit experience will be required to attend AutoCad/Revit training. As an entry level designer, you will join the Schuler Shook team and create CAD and Revit documentation for assigned projects.
Preference will be given to applicants who have experience with some or all of the following systems:
· AV Presentation and Control Systems
· Stage Management
· Hearing Augmentation
· Production Sound
· Video Recording and Broadcast.
We are a client-driven group, so you will go beyond the drafting aspects of the job. Strong organizational skills and personal initiative are required. The ability to manage your time effectively between multiple projects is a must.
Education: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience is required.
