The ideal candidate will be located near a major airport in Eastern to Central Canada such as Quebec, Ottawa, Montreal or Toronto as significant travel is required in this territory and be bilingual in French and English.

What You Will Do:

As a Quality Auditor, you will be at the forefront of maintaining and enhancing product and process quality for our members. Reporting to the Region Manager, you will conduct thorough audits, inspections, and testing to ensure compliance with established standards and policies. Your insights and expertise will directly contribute to the continuous improvement of production procedures and quality systems in the engineered wood industry.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quality assurance audits, including inspections, sampling, and testing of products.
  • Perform quality system audits of mill production procedures, providing verbal and written reports to plant management.
  • Inspect products for compliance with relevant standards and policies.
  • Report quality levels and nonconformances to mill management and Region Manager.
  • Conduct product sampling, retesting, intensive grading and test witnessing as required.
  • Train and monitor mill staff on quality procedures and standards.
  • Maintain effective communication with mill management and quality personnel.
  • Conduct field inspections, surveys, training programs, and test witnessing.
  • Manage and maintain Association equipment and leased vehicles responsibly.


Requirements

Qualifications We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university or two years of related experience/training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) certification, and possibly ISO Lead Auditor certification.
  • Training and familiarity with national and international quality standards.
  • Functional knowledge of engineered wood products and processes, including plywood, OSB, glulam, LVL, and I-joists.
  • Bilingual (English and French) is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows OS.
  • Strong reading, writing, and speaking skills for effective communication with clients and team members.
  • Mathematical proficiency including working with fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios and statistical concepts.
  • Physical ability to handle and stack wood panels and lift/move 50 lbs. repetitively.
  • Eligible for travel including domestic air travel and travel to the United States and South America.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of $72,000 to $110,000 (CAN) annually, based on experience.
