Description
Under general supervision, this individual will troubleshoot, inspect, repair and perform routine maintenance for plumbing, pumps, filtration and chemical control for water feature operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts all activities in alignment with principles of the Gathering Place.
- Ensure quality and consistency in all aspects of the day to day operation.
- Follow all operating policies and procedures on a continuous basis to ensure safety, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
- Maintain, clean, replace and repair pumps, electric motors, automatic controls, valves, piping, plumbing, mechanical assemblies and related pump station equipment.
- Replace packing, mechanical seals, and bearings in pumps.
- Perform records keeping and maintain files on work performed, maintain inspection and repair record utilizing TMA.
- Assist with periodic safety inspections; identify and correct safety hazards.
- Inspect, diagnose and perform major and minor repair work on motors, pumps, hydraulic equipment, compressors, controls, valves and related equipment associated with water feature operations.
- Operates a variety of diagnostic instruments and a variety of hand, electric, and air-driven tools.
- Conducts various analyses and inspections of mechanical systems to determine the most cost-effective means of maintenance, repair or replacement.
- Perform tasks assigned within time constraints implied by park guidelines; organize and plan daily workload without direct supervision.
- Perform water analysis and maintain records for all park water-based attractions.
- Consistently practice safe habits including the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), safe lifting techniques, and reporting safety concerns.
- Assist with other miscellaneous duties as required to support the park engineering team.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; and use hands. The employee must be able to maneuver in and around tight spaces, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist and turn, or crawl.
- May be subject to exposure to excessive noise and vibrations, extremes in temperature, humidity or wetness, dust, or chemicals with training (grease, oil, etc.), and require the use of special visual or auditory protective equipment.
Basic Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, repair manuals and diagnostic test results.
- Ability to use measuring equipment and interpret mechanical diagrams.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Must have knowledge of hand / power tools used in the trade.
- Three years’ experience in pump and filtration maintenance.
- Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record.
- A high school or equivalency diploma is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Heavy equipment operating skills and knowledge.
- Cross-training in other maintenance related fields (carpentry, plumbing, electrical etc.)
- CPO / APO certificate a plus
Computer Proficiency:
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Experience using Electronic Maintenance Management System preferred.
Safety-Sensitive:
- This is a safety-sensitive position. Applicants, regardless of whether they are a medical marijuana licensee, must receive a negative result on a 10-panel, pre-placement drug screening to include THC, prior to beginning work.
