Maintenance Production Manager (MPM)

Purpose of the Role

The Production Manager oversees maintenance crews to ensure jobs are completed efficiently, on time, and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards. This role focuses on crew management, operational discipline, and field accountability to drive department profitability and client satisfaction. The PM plays a critical role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and serves as a key liaison between field teams and leadership.


Responsibilities and Routine Tasks


Crew Management and Scheduling

  • Directly manage and oversee six maintenance crews.
  • Develop and maintain weekly and monthly schedules, ensuring all jobs are completed on time.
  • Approve timesheets and schedules, ensuring accuracy and alignment with department goals.
  • Train and mentor crew members to ensure they meet performance expectations.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews to track progress and address any performance gaps.

Field Operations and Quality Control

  • Monitor job sites to ensure work quality meets company and client standards.
  • Enforce field discipline and accountability to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement process changes to increase efficiency.
  • Ensure all maintenance jobs are profitable and make adjustments as needed.

Materials and Equipment Management

  • Manage inventory of materials, tools, and supplies to ensure crews have the necessary resources.
  • Oversee the proper use and maintenance of all maintenance equipment.

Safety and Compliance

  • Implement and enforce safety programs to reduce workplace incidents and ensure worker safety.
  • Ensure all teams comply with company standards and industry regulations.

Profitability and Sales Support

  • Analyze job performance and profitability, making recommendations for improvements.
  • Support enhancement sales by identifying opportunities and suggesting upgrades to clients.
  • Assist in contract renewals, providing field insights to support MOM-led negotiations.

Snow Operations

  • Serve as a snow plow driver during winter operations.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating snow removal activities as needed.
Requirements

 

Skills and Expertise Required


Essential Skills

  • Leadership and team management with a focus on accountability and discipline.
  • Strong organizational and scheduling skills to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Proficient in quality control and troubleshooting field issues.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with crews and leadership.

Technical Expertise

  • Proficiency with LMN software and Google Suite for scheduling and management tasks.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of horticulture and maintenance practices.
  • Familiarity with maintenance equipment, tools, and their proper use.

Experience and Background

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance operations or a similar field.
  • Proven expertise in managing crews and equipment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting and job profitability metrics.

Work Environment

  • Primarily field-based role with time spent coordinating schedules and reviewing job sites.
  • Requires active participation in snow removal operations during winter months.

Salary Description
$62,000.00-$70,000.00
